<p>What is it so important to prepare for a speech? This is actually a persuasive paper that I need to write. My ideas are that it can increase your self confidence and therefore reduce your nervousness and anxiety. Any other ideas?</p>
<p>Also because then you’ll seem better in front of the audience if you’re familiar with your speech.</p>
<p>By reading a speech aloud before you give it, you can also edit for word choice and phrasing that sounds weird or causes difficulties when spoken. (Coming from someone with a lisp, here. :p)</p>
<p>helps make sure the speech follows a clear path, instead of going off in random tangents like it might if you were just making it up as you go along. also allows you to check grammar and facts.</p>
<p>Because otherwise you’ll have no clue what you’re saying.</p>
<p>And if someone asks you tough questions, you’ll know how to answer them.</p>
<p>You will know what you are saying and won’t have to read as much (if you’re allowed a note card, otherwise you won’t have any idea if you don’t prepare)</p>
