Why dont we have a forum for Auto Techs,electricians,plumbers,carpenters,etc? many people in these trades make far more than humanities,science, and some business majors, so why don’t we have a forum subsection promoting this career path? I know about the “other majors” section but I think we need a whole forum devoted to the trades personally.
I’m not in charge…but it’s a college site. These trades don’t require college degrees. I agree, excellent choices for many students…but not college majors.
True, it’s a “college site,” but there’s a pretty active sub-forum for boarding school folks on the pre-college forum, the oddly-named “Prep School” forum. (“Prep school” IRL is shorthand for college PREPARATORY schools, of which boarding schools are a very small segment, but that’s an aside!)
I think the bigger issue is that a trade schools forum just wouldn’t generate enough interest here on CC and would die a quick death. I mean the vast majority of US colleges and universities generate very little interest on CC at present. Heck, even many (most?) of the featured “Top” LACs get very little traffic these days.
CC is a world unto itself!
