Why do you want to go to princeton?
And does princeton have a good graduate?
Because I ve looked up the most recent mba rankings, but princeton didn’t list it, is it because it dont have a mba-program?

Princeton doesn’t have an MBA program. Its grad school is small, but that doesn’t matter because its undergraduate program rocks.

yep…i’d say best undergraduate program ever!!

Does that means most students of princeton after their undergraduate leave the school and go elsewhere to do the graduate for example Wharton.
And how big is the chance then that i.e. wharton or Harvard will accept you?

Well, I mean…you don’t have to leave if Princeton accepts you into some department of their graduate school. But most do, choosing to either work or go to grad/business/law school somewhere else.

While admission to Wharton’s and Harvard’s graduate schools is still highly competitive, it’ll help that you graduated from one of the top schools in the nation.

because it’s one of the few ivies that has a decent engineering program as well as a good social sciences/humanities program

It doesn’t have an established Law/Business/Med school, but it definitely prepares you well for grad school work (especially with the emphasis on independent work, what with the junior papers and senior thesis). But Why Princeton? Because of the undergrad program. The majority of the school is undergrad students, so the focus is definitely on them. And of course, beautiful campus, excellent professors, etc, etc.

good engineering but also lots of other programs, not huge, not as far north as other cold places, not in California, Beautiful campus , lol

Princeton’s major attraction, that the other Big Two will will never be able to match, is its total and undivided undergraduate focus. The nation’s top students are very aware of this. It becomes most apparent in the due diligence period when they begin contacting professors, departments etc. For this single fact alone, Princeton will always have the Undergraduate Edge. As for graduate school, look elsewhere. (taken from previous post)

not in california…? I fail to follow, KountingSheep. california is ONLY the bestest place in the whole entire world…

…but anyway. why princeton? undergraduate focus, strengths in awesome subjects like physics, junior paper/senior thesis, relatively small but not stiflingly so, location–small safe place with access to more interesting places when there’s time, etc. etc. etc.

californias too far away for me, i didt eman to insult california i was jstu referingtothe fact that PTon has a strong engineering program in addition to others, which is unlike almost every other school inthe country accept the ones in california

california is THE place to be =)

princeton has incredible architecture, incredible location (between philly and nyc…perfect!), un-believeable focus on the undergraduate student, incredible professors who teach FRESHMAN seminars (i.e. cornel west!), great athletics…ok we could all go on forever…its the perfect university!

ok so why not Princeton?
Frankly I cant think of a single answer.

The social scene could be a little better…
A lot of people don’t like the eating clubs. Princeton isn’t a college town.
But those are such minor things compared to all the great things it offers.

i like the love california is getting in this thread…i have a lot of state pride, lol :)

UCLA and princeton should just get up and swap places…now THAT would be awesome!! any takers?

Yup, would provide an intellectual alternative to USC , although the elitism would remain(somewhat)

i dont agree with u with that…first off, USC doesnt provide u with any intellectual stimulation…the smart kids go to UCLA…the rich kids go to SC. and although there is an overwhelming feeling that princeton kiddies have an elitist attitude, ive never come across anyone affiliated with princeton that had any hint of elitism

yeah…my pton interviewer (who was an alumnus) was not elitist at all and had a great sense of humor
and the three people i know who’ve gone to pton haven’t grown elitist any in the past few years

USC = ugly students of california
