Why Virginia?

I applied to Virginia almost on a whim near the end of the application deadline because of its high ranking and division 1 sports… Just got wait listed at Vanderbilt and now Virginia is starting to become more and more of an option for me as I learn more about it. What makes Virginia great? I saw that they have an amazing undergrad business program that I am very interested… and good engineering too. How hard is it to get into the business school? What is Charlottesville like? What is the social scene like? School Spirit? How about internships and job placement?

There is so much good about UVa… but you really need to experience it in person to see if it’s a great fit for you and get your questions answered in person. If at all possible, make the effort to get to UVa for one of the Days on the Lawn (DOTL) sessions. Here’s the link for DOTL: http://www.virginia.edu/undergradadmission/lawndays/

You can go to the Commerce School website and see some of the stats about admission. That is the undergrad business school, which accepts applications during a student’s 2nd year… Many 1st year UVa students start out intending to apply to the Commerce School, and then discover other interests and change their mind.

Charlottesville is a very cosmopolitan city, considering its size.
