<p>I’m ****ing scared cause yesterday, i drank this really hot coffee and it burned my tongue. later, i looked in the mirror, i had a cut in my tongue and my taste buds were inflamed. Will this naturally heal?, or should i go see a doctor?</p>
<p>I’ve been in a similar situation and my tongue regenerated as you said. However, I did not have a cut. You might want to see a doctor but I don’t think it’s that serious.</p>
<p>Also, East Asians drink a lot of hot stuff and often get throat cancer as a result.</p>

<p>I’m going to guess that that cut you are talking about goes straight down the middle of your tongue?</p>
<p>If so, it’s normally there. It just happens to appear more severe because your buds were inflamed. Don’t take my word for it, but I think burning your tongue like that just kills off the taste buds on the surface of the tongue. Your tongue sheds like your skin sheds, so your taste buds will regrow/come back soon. </p>
<p>If the cut was not what I was thinking of, then perhaps you should see the doctor. But how would hot coffee, no matter how hot, make an abnormal cut on your tongue? O.o</p>
<p>I don’t know. It was so ****ing hot and, it inflamed my buds but, as for the cut, it’s the same one you’re talking about.</p>
