We all know about the recent Swine flu pandemic and its at a high level in the US. Will this affect your decision for college study? What are your reactions on this crucial matter?

Doesn’t bother me. We have it here too. It’s not like it’s the plague or anything.

Actually it’s at a very low level in the US compared to some other countries/regions. A professor of mine postponed a trip to Chile because 1/4 of the population in the region were suspected to be infected with the swine flu. (Suspected because Chile is not running lab tests on everyone, so the official number of confirmed cases is relatively low.)

There are much more severe safety considerations for coming to the US than the swine flu. Number of confirmed swine flu cases in the US: 46,000. Survival rate: 99%. Number of yearly gun deaths: 31,000. Survival rate: 0%.

Yeah I wouldn’t expect the survival rate of gun deaths to be very high ;)
