I am an international student and I applying through regular decision to three Ivys. However, our educational system is of course different, and we finish our schoolyear on December. I’m a senior right now and, as a backup plan, I decided to apply to a university in my country. I got in, and I definitely will pay for my vacancy by February because the results from the US won’t be available until March or April (when classes start here). Will the officials from the universities I am applying will know that I am already enrolled in a university? I’m doing this because nothing is for sure, and I wouldn’t like to lose a semester here if I don’t get in.

U are fine- they would not know and they would not really care much. This happens like all the time. Its a very smart idea to do that

I’m in the same situation doing the same thing.

Its actually a very good backup plan. I too tried to do that, but the University in my country strictly says that I won’t be allowed to apply to the US after getting enrolled in their program :(

I hope everything goes fine with my plan then
The university I got in hopefully doesn’t have any restrictions and I just wish those in the US won’t consider it as a problem!
