Will this help me or not?

I’m an intstate borderline applicant (3.7 GPA), (2100 SAT) and great essays, recs, and pretty good e.c.'s. My counselor said that my first quarter grades would weigh big impact for me, because of my bad performace sophmore year, which explains the 3.7 only :(. So is this good or not for a first quarter grade, and will it help me? Please Feedback!

A - Business Law, B+ AP Spanish Lang., B+ AP Bio, A - AP Government, B+ - AP English Lang., A - Architecture Drawing, A - AP Calc BC

EDIT: That’s a 4.1 Weighted First Quarter GPA

In my opinion, it helps quite a bit. You’ve established a trend that improves into your junior year, you have a difficult schedule (five AP’s!), and you have A’s in two of the tough ones. What was your SAT breakdown (I know they say they take account of the writing part, but I bet they really try to compare the Math/Verbal together with previous students.) And, your class standing. Those are among the big issues. Also, did you apply ED? That will help your case as well.

Good luck!
