Will UCLA rescind my offer of admission?

I’m dangerously close on getting a C in my class, but it will not fall below a C with the points I have accumulated so far. The class is not even a required class, but would it still jeopardize my chance with ucla? All other classes I am reasonably sure I will attain As or at least Bs. Thanks

@24luke16 Congratz^^ First time in calc was tough, but it does get easier…till you get into differential equations. Depending on the professor you get if s/he focuses on application of de then it’s not bad, but if s/he focuses on theory behind de…you’re gonna have a bad time (well at least for me).

Congrats! @24luke16‌
It feels awesome getting that monkey off your back.

@jonjon03 Thanks! And honestly I think you’ll be fine with just 1 C in a non-major class, if you get more than 1 C then that would be something to worry about. Calculus was tough the first time but I do find it easier. We actually just started differential equations and doesn’t seem all that bad yet, luckily my professor does a good job at explaining things.

Thanks @2016Candles, it feels great. Now I can get back and focus on finishing off strong.

Update in case anyone is curious: UCLA never emailed me back, but my congratulations letter mysteriously reappeared on my account…not sure what that’s about, but I take it as a good sign? UCB emailed me back and is allowing me to make up the course in the summer (the course I dropped was my last major pre-req). They also told me that dropping the course wouldn’t affect my admission, anyway.

@tzeros‌ you dropped a major pre req and was okay?

Yeah, it was a pre-req for the history major, the last one I had to complete. I think they’re a lot happier if they know you can make it up during the summer time; my admissions counselor told me that I wouldn’t be able to declare my major otherwise. But she did definitely say that my admission wouldn’t be rescinded on that basis alone.

thanks man , you’ve given me hope!

@tzeros Same thing happened to me. I still haven’t gotten an email back but my congratulations page went back and my terms were revised.

When did the people who didn’t get an email but had their congratulations page back submit their changes?

@babybergur I submitted my changes a week ago today, on the 23rd

I just informed UCLA that I dropped 12 out of the 32 units I was talking, none of them major related and I am still going to have 60 units by the end. Hopefully they don’t revoke my admission offer.

@CollegeDropout1‌

Since I may drop one of my classes that I don’t need for getting 60 units, IGETC, or for my major, and am thus in a similar situation as you, would you mind letting us know what happens?

Also, what were your stated reasons for dropping those classes?

I sent my academic changes on April 19th and I STILL haven’t gotten a response yet… has anyone else been waiting on a response for a while now like me too?

@cayton Sure, I will let you know.

@babybergur‌ What academic changes did you make?

@babybergur I submitted my changes on April 18th, right after decisions came out. My admissions letter popped back up a couple of days ago. I called UCLA just to make sure that it wasn’t a glitch in the system, and the admissions officer checked my account and told me that my admission still stands and the course I dropped wasn’t a problem. Not sure why I didn’t get an email, but if anyone else is in the same position and needs some peace of mind, calling them doesn’t hurt!

That is strange, I submitted my scheduled changes, and my acceptance letter is still up. I heard it was supposed to go away.

I withdrew from a speech class this semester and sent in the academic update on Monday. I also e-mailed them my concern on Tuesday because I was incredibly anxious. I told them the reason for my withdrawal was that I had only enrolled in that class was because it was a CSU requirement, and I decided against CSU. I heard back from them today via e-mail and they told me I am fine. Whew!

damn u sent it this monday? that was fast

@ericxxd I know, I seriously couldn’t sleep all week, and now I can rest. I think my case was pretty cut and dry.
