I won’t buy an EV next, but after riding an electric bike at Versaille I would certainly consider buying one of those for my 6 mile commute to work every day.
My husband has been loving his new e-bike. He had gotten away from cycling, but now that he knows assist (which he uses sparingly) is available he rides recreationally 25+ miles a few days every week. It’s nice to know he can have a boost if there is challenge from hills or wind or inpending storm. Due to theft risk (even with locks), he does not leave it out and unattended
Lol. Musk likely has nothing to do with this. The cyberdumpsters disintegrate on their own.
Whatever the cause was… glad this thing is dead.
That cybertruck is THE ugliest vehicle on the road, in my opinion. I can’t see any reason to buy one. Except that you have money to spend and just want to show off your largesse.
Like a bow tie on a pig.
It’s still ugly.
The reported reasoning behind the shape, IIRC, is that is more cost effective to fold the aluminum than to curve it.
You have to wonder how much more this hideous thing would have cost if they had curved the shape. It’s pretty expensive as it is…for what it is.
driven evs/hybrids since 2006. would very much like to buy a volvo ex30 but it was delayed into 2025 (along with aptera). rented a model 3 recently. interesting tech but not liking tesla other than its stock.
Tesla has been dropping prices. So who knows
Sit super ugly but gets good reviews. Guess some can look past the appearance. Tesla Cybertruck review: incredible tech packaged in the weirdest way | Electrek
The price of the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck starts at $81,895 and goes up to $101,985 depending on the trim and options. Until the rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck arrives for the next model year, with a starting price of $62,985, the lineup only includes the Dual Motor and Beast models.
I can think of a lot of more functional and better looking trucks for the prices…even when the $63,000 one comes out.
But I guess if you are set on only owning a Tesla, this is your option.
I still think…it’s like a dumpster on wheels.
Exactly. A cyberdumpster.
Oh agreed they are ugly, but I don’t fault anyone who wants to own one. Personally all trucks are ugly to me, so what’s one more ugly one….
I wouldn’t call either Rivian or Cyberdumpster a truck. Can’t fit even half a cubic yard of bark into either…
Aren’t there different size trucks with different size beds? I don’t care for any trucks so have no idea. But I thought I’ve seen different size vehicles with open beds, especially outside the continental 48. Made by Honda or Nissan maybe? Not sure if any are EVs. But if someone wants a small bed EV truck, guess the options are limited. That said, I’ve never seen any cybertruck with anything in the bed. I’ve seen bike racks on the back, but have not seen the bed in use.
But this is getting off topic. Best to get back to talking about EVs.
Here is proof that YouTubers make too much money. In the Cybertruck vs. F-150 torture test the Cybertruck did better than I thought it might, but the frame durability could be a real world issue.

Durability? Frame failure?
