Will you buy an electric or hybrid car next?

And could potentially be a hazard for those nearby.

Hazard to anyone on or near a road or going on or near road at any point—VERY dangerous! Cities and states can sue for the expense of having to clean up the pieces falling on the roadway and causing hazards, plus any accidents caused by the debris! Elon has lots of money—they should go after him!

As my grandfather used to say about something shoddily built, “held together by boogers.”

I wonder if panels flying off your cybertruck falls under unsecured load laws? I think owners should wrap tie-down straps around their Clustertrucks cybertrucks.

My husband says he received an email from Tesla offering a free vehicle wrap with a cyberdumpster purchase. Anything to keep that heap of junk together! How many rolls of duct tape does it take to wrap that thing?

Funny you say that, the vast majority of Cybertrucks I see on the roads around me are wrapped now.

Bare metal car panels require constant maintenance, assuming the body panels aren’t flying off.

Why do people buy those cybertrucks in the first place? They are ugly and impractical. If you want an electric truck the Ford Lightning F-150 is so much more practical. I don’t get it. The Tesla sedans I understand, especially around range, but that truck makes no sense.

To show off. Some think these will become collectors’ cars if kept properly garaged and taken care off because the majority will fall apart and rust away. A prime example. Someone a few blocks away has one of these. It can’t fit into a standard single garage door, so it is parked in the driveway, exposed to the elements and slowly rusting away…

Las Vegas Metro Police will deploy 10 new Cybertrucks.

From the article:

““And they didn’t come out of our budget again, they came out of a very generation donation from an individual,” Sheriff McMahill shared.”

Glad the department did not waste its budget on these trucks! And the generous individual probably has a nice tax deduction.

I saw a Cybertruck today with a camper or topper shell on it. I can’t decide if it makes it look worse or better.

The only thing that could make them look better is whatever machine junkyards use to crush cars into metal cubes.

Quick question on delivery times - son put a down payment on a Camry hybrid while in production. It left the factory and is in transit but arrival at dealership keeps getting pushed back. A week ago son learned it was on a train in Minnesota but nothing since. I gather last year it was pretty common for dealerships to not get firm delivery dates - I guess that hasn’t changed? Son has been given dates for arrival that have passed.

Our personal anecdote. Our kids’ RAV4 delivery date has been delayed and delayed. And then of a sudden it arrived ahead of the delayed date.

Power of the post LOL - car has arrived in the greater Seattle area and should (should) be at the dealership in a day or two.

We’re actually in a similar holding pattern waiting for a Lexus hybrid (NX 350h). We put down a deposit in January, picking the color/options combo we wanted off the list of in-production vehicles. It arrived in the port in LA 2/14. Delivery is supposed to be “by 3/18”. We did hear the delivery truck was in WY last week, and it is supposed to be ready for us this week or next.

We just did a custom build on a BMW PHEV. Ordered at the very end of December. They come from South Carolina. I like that you can track progress on the myBMW app. Was moving along, “in transit” for a while, then back to the earlier “at the port.” (Not sure what that means coming from South Carolina to California.) A day later got a call it was at the dealer. This was last week so not too bad.

Such a fun car! Annoying that it only comes with a 120v charge cord so we had to buy a converter for the level 2 charger we already have in the garage.
