Will you buy an electric or hybrid car next?

Just saw one of these parked in the TJ lot… so cute!!!

One of our neighbors has one. Very cute.

Took a ride in an ID4 suv the other day. It was very pleasant. Not sure it will be car of choice but probably will be on the list for when I go electric.

Had lunch with a friend yesterday who was picked up in an Uber driving a lucid air. I was jealous

I LOVE my ID.4! Super fun to drive and seats are comfortable which is my main requirement as I drive a lot and have issues with my back when seats have inadequate adjustability and support.

Mine is at close to 40K miles and I have had zero issues.

Interesting article. While it mostly focuses on EVs, the new hybrids and gas-powered cars face similar issues with their onboard technology.

Super happy with my updated Prius Prime. 50 miles of range off the battery makes it an EV for local and regional runs while the hybrid system makes it a high efficiency system for long distance driving. 80+ mpg. Unbelievable pick up, 0-60 in 6.6 secs.

Anyone have thoughts on the Kia Niro? Hubby not ready for EV so we are looking at hybrids. He thinks EV batteries will get better in the next couple of years and I don’t have the energy to argue with him.

I have a 2024 Kia Niro PHEV. The small battery failed and I had to jump it three different times in the first year. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the battery under warranty no problem. Otherwise, the car has been fine. The reason I’d never buy another Kia though is the terrible buying experience at one dealer and the terrible service experience at another. If you have multiple Kia dealers in your area this may not be an issue.

When you wake up and the power is out, but you want hot coffee - now! So what do you do ? Plug the kettle into your Ford!

A whole house inverter/transfer switch will follow at some point in the near future.

We have an inverter for our Chevy Bolt that we have used to keep the refrigerator and other important appliances running during power outages.

Very nice. :+1:

F-150 Lightning aka Fed the truck has a generator function so you just plug things into the outlets in the back of the bed. Our fridge is hardwired in so has to be powered with the house (or some sort of switch has to be gerry rigged which may not be code compliant). Ford makes a whole house “generator” that uses Lightning’s batteries as a source of energy. That’s what is coming soon. My husband is hell-bent on getting it.
