Monroe day is the day after DFAS I believe - you’d probably want to stay the weekend if possible
Yes, the Monroe events start Saturday evening after the regular events conclude, and continue into Sunday.
has W&M indicated when they will release financial aid packages?
A lot will depend on when FAFSA gets all their info to the colleges. FAFSA just started batching out to colleges last week.
WM put decision letters in the mail today.
I received an email directly to me as the parent regarding Monroe.
I thought since they used the CSS they might be able to do it sooner. We already got a financial aid package from SMU (also uses the CSS)
A conversation on another school’s thread leads me to ask… Is there a waiting list or alternate list to the Monroe Scholars program? Do you think it would be worth asking about this, or just leave it alone? Has been accepted to other schools’ honors programs. 1490 SAT, 9 APs, 1 DE, 4.32w
Typed too fast. 1540 SAT.
Congrats on the various honors acceptances! TBH, I don’t know how selections for Monroe happen, but I would imagine all selections are made at the time of the initial acceptance offer. I don’t think I ever heard of there being a waitlist / alternates / late-additions to the program.
I only know for sure that there are alternates for the 1693. I haven’t heard of any for the Monroe, but if there were, they most likely would have been notified as such. At least that’s how it was at other schools for us.
Thanks. We are still very happy with the William & Mary acceptance, with or without the honors program!
I would call admissions and ask. They will have the most current up to date information.
Has anyone ever attended DFAS (Day for Admitted Students) before (for an older child)? If so, what was your experience like? I’m debating whether or not to attend that or the just the Green & Gold days. I’m wondering if a whole day might be too much.
I’ve attended both. I would choose DFAS if it works with your schedule. You get a more in depth view of the college, and it was a lot of fun. Green and Gold days is good, too, but it’s very abbreviated. If your student is still trying to decide between colleges, DFAS would be my choice.
Here is the DFAS schedule for this year. https://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/welcome/visit/dfas/schedule/dfas-program.pdf
Two time W&M mom here. Absolutely go to DFAS if you can. It is awesome and really is a campus wide event that goes so much deeper than a regular admission event. I’ve been twice with two different kids and left both times feeling like we made the best decision. Welcome to the Tribe!
The Verto program looks intriguing, but is the price tag really almost 30K for the semester? I saw that a refund was possible if admitted. Does anyone know how that works?
London costs are the highest, and will be higher this year because they will have a meal plan which has not been the case in the past. From what I can tell, if your kid gets in off the waitlist, even as late as July, Verto will refund everything you have paid.
We were notified about monroe scholarship at time of admittance like others. Guessing no waitlist for it
