S26 was accepted! Such a thrilling surprise.
Congrats!! Welcome to the eph family! S24 is a sophomore and happy to answer any questions!
Thank you! I might just take you up on that as the next school year approaches.
Book admitted students day accommodations now if you are coming! And move in weekend.
Good advice! Thank you!
Congratulations! My D graduated in June and had an incredible 4 years. Also happy to answer questions, especially about the art department.
Thank you!
How wonderful!!! Congrats!
If you are in a position to share stats, would be helpful to others.
Another parent of a sophomore year, happy to answer any questions. Congratulations everyone!
And graduation!
Parent of a senior and happy to do the same ![]()
Pro tip: If you’re interested in staying at the Williams Inn for graduation and you can’t get a reservation a year out, put yourself on the waitlist. We got a room a couple of weeks before graduation. It was great to be able to walk to all of the weekend’s events.
Congratulations!!! Amazing accomplishment in a very competitive year, acceptance rate was down and apps increased from last year. Here is the article from the Record, which notes 18 deferred apps were eventually accepted during RD last year,
College admits 25.2 percent of early decision applicants to Class of 2030 – The Williams Record
In 4 years we’ve managed to stay at the Williams Inn…twice ![]()
If you are looking for other options- Vacation Village is nice condo style lodging near Jiminy Peak. Around 20 mins from Williams but the price is typically very good.
There are lots of motels right around the college. We’ve had the best experience with Maple Terrace, but Cozy Corner is also nice for a quick stay.
Fairfield Inn is the only ‘chain’ hotel in the area. Not quite walkable but still a nice stay if you can get it at the right price.
Also, Hotel Downstreet in North Adams has higher floors with nice views of the Berkshire range and downtown North Adams.
We most recently tried Berkshire Valley Inn - maybe 15 min away. Recently redone and lovely. Highly recommend.
Congratulations! So happy for you! Our son loves Williams! He is a first-year and has had a great first semester–he’s close friends with his roommate and his entry has been a fantastic source of support. Although he applied Regular Decision, the fit with Williams is perfect. Now we understand why so many students apply ED. Congratulations to your S26! What an achievement!
Looks like Fayerweather Hall may be under renovation next year which means first years housing may be impacted.
This was awful for Faye. My son’s floor, Faye-3, was a close-knit group However, we are so grateful students are safe and although they’re now dispersed, his first semester housing experience was so supportive and friendly, it gave him a confident start to his first year at Williams. Go Ephs!
Great to hear this, it’s interesting that Williams reserves 100 rooms on campus exactly for this type of situation, the contingency planning saved the day.
Also, if your son is interested, I saw this new college town tutoring service that looks like it was started at Williams or maybe Amherst, where college students can tutor high school students locally, great idea if your son want to sign up! See below.
