This might be slightly off topic, but I figured some people here might have been Williamstown Apprentices or know someone who has. Anyway: does anyone know when we are supposed to be notified if we got chosen to be an apprentice or not? I can’t find a date anywhere online and if I don’t get accepted, I want to apply for internships but I need to know if I’ll be able to wait until I definitively find out about Williamstown or if I should just start applying for internships now anyway (because you have to apply to them a certain amount of time before you’d start and if the Williamstown people don’t notify you until May or something, I wouldn’t have enough time to apply for any internships if I don’t get accepted).
Sorry. I’m rambling; I’m kind of stressed about about this.

If I were you, I’d go ahead and start the application process for other internships. You don’t want to miss those deadlines, and you want to feel that you are moving forward already if *** is not a yes. If *** accepts you, then you can just tear up your work and rescind whatever else you’ve submitted…

As I recall Williamstown has a very late notification and, to be honest, a lot of it has to do with connections, especially since there’s no audition. Never wait to hear from any job before applying to others, regardless of the profession!

oh ha ha ha. Wondering what was wrong with my post that something got asterisked out and realized that the initials for the Williamstown Theatre Festival represent a banned expression!

Yeah, I figured it would probably be wise to start applying to internships. Thanks, guys!

My S was an apprentice at Williamstown Theatre Festival last summer - the summer after his freshman year in a BFA acting program. He didn’t find out until the very day he was leaving his university to head home for the summer - around May 8th. However, he doesn’t have the neatest handwriting, and was told that the Festival staff had been trying to contact him, but had been calling the wrong number. I think he may have emailed them at some point to find out whether acceptances had gone out. I think applications are due in March so it may not be until some time in April before applicants are notified.
