Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

Well, I know I’ll be going to A Big Ten school. I got in to the University of Illinois today. Curious that I received a decision from them before U-M even though I sent my application to UIUC a week later. They also required me to send some syllabi last week to determine transferability of my courses, and I’m sure that delayed the decision. Whatever, I’m happy that I won’t have to endure another semester at my current college!

@redsdave03: Congratulations! I believe you would also be accepted to U-M soon!!!

Uiuc is amazing for engineering though! Yes Pitt is pretty good too actually, its in the big east conference. But I’m a wolverine now! can’t wait for Michigan loll

@Matis - I can’t find a list of LSA advisors. All I know is you get assigned one at orientation.

D4wnzz - Do you plan on taking ECON 401 in the winter?

I will appeal. If not, both intermediate micro macro.Lol. u? I will definitely appeal my credits though.

I’ll just take Intermediate Micro. I’ve heard nasty things about it so I don’t want to overload myself.

I took both before, so should be good. Taking any math? I might take diff eq and probability

@Dreamingowl Thanks! Same goes for you. I’m hoping we get our decisions by the end of this weekend.

@redsdave03: Thanks! This week? Today is Friday and does U-M release results on weekend? I guess mine would come maybe any time next week.

By logic, if the deadline for paying deposit is Dec1st, it usually takes 2 weeks for students to decide the acceptance, so the latest time for receiving decision should be mid-Nov.

So hard to wait these days…

I think I might switch my major to Psych. I’ve already taken intro and some 200 level courses.

@Dreamingowl I’m pretty sure some people have gotten their decisions on the weekend. We can always keep our hopes up. I agree that any time after mid-November is ridiculous to release decisions. I think students need some time to mull things over, especially people who applied to at least one other school for transfer.

@redsdave03: Thanks very much! Best wishes to you always! I think my life become soo slow during these period.

Is winter transfer pool much smaller than fall transfer? What was the admission rate of winter transfer?

The Winter transfer pool is much smaller, yes. We do not know the admission rate of Winter transfers.

@albo23: Thanks! I guess I should know the decision any day next week.

My life becomes so slow when I am looking forward to something, but it is also super fast, cause I have 3 exams, 2 paper dues next coming week…

What is the student-professor ratio in U-M class averagely?

@Dreamingowl 16:1. 48% of classes have 20 or fewer students. It’s the typical university where most of the fresh and soph-level gen ed lecture classes are huge, but they slim down after that as people specialize. I’d guess that student-to-faculty ratio probably won’t be a big problem for us transfer students.

@redsdave03: Thanks very much. I could not believe how slow my life become as this coming week would be the final waiting session. Every minute to me seems excruciating.
