Hello, so heres my question/problem
I was admitted to SFSU as a Incoming freshman and I accepted their admittance, I already went to the orientation and signed up for all my classes, but I completely changed my mind about attending the school. My question is can I still withdraw even though the semester has not started (starts August 25)? Without being charged enormous fees since I havent really payed for my classes that my financial aid was supposed to cover in August? Is this possible? Help Please!!
Since you have gone through orientation and class registration, the best course of action is to call the Registars office on Monday and say you are requesting a withdrawl. According the SFSU website, you withdraw on-line and no fees or tution will be charged. Here is the link and here is the information: http://www.sfsu.edu/~bursar/student/policy/withdrawal_policy.html
A university withdrawal must be done when a student needs to drop all courses and leave the University. If the first day of the semester has not yet begun, students may cancel their course schedule online without any assessment of tuition or fees. Once classes have started, students who are planning to drop all courses and leave the University for any reason/s during the term must contact the Registrar’s Office prior to their departure to complete the withdrawal process. Unless this procedure is followed, students will receive failing grades in all courses. If students do not attend and do not cancel their courses before the semester begins, they are financially responsible for applicable assessed tuition and fees. There are no exceptions to this cancellation and withdrawal procedure.
Thanks for the information! Really helped ease my situation
