Women(?) and Shoes...

I am often lucky enough to get the last pair the store has on sale, mostly 'cause my feet are so small (5 1/2 narrow). Of course, it also means that if I find the perfect shoe for an occasion or outfit I need to buy it right then, even if full price, 'cause most stores only stock one pair in my size, so when it’s gone, it’s gone. My DH has become resigned to his fate; he learned early on that it’s really hard for me to find shoes that fit and are also comfortable, with a foot this small and (esplly) narrow (often the size 5s, 5 1/2s only come in medium).

Actually, I think one reason women are obsessed with shoes is we are always looking (hoping?) for a pair that combines style AND comfort. Too often our female feet are in pain in an effort to “look good”. Men’s shoes are always comfortable 'cause they don’t wear either high heels or pointy toes. I love Birkenstock dressy shoes, but H always says they look like kids shoes (the Mary Janes). Ecco Mary Janes are good too. Neither one is cheap.
