Women: is all-cotton underwear still the recommendation?

I have decided that a lot of my underwear needs to be replaced–some of it is probably 10 or more years old . . . My mother insisted that all-cotton underwear was the most hygenic, but I am thinking that with all of the new high-tech fabrics, maybe that is not true anymore.

Nothing beats cotton.

Agree the cotton for bottoms is best & most comfortable. Costco has ladies lingerine that is pretty reasonably-priced and durable. For bras, the synthetics of course are much more durable & what many/most of us wear.

I love cotton best, but also prefer synthetics for traveling as they are lighter and I can wash and wear them much more quickly if needed

I still wear my old lady cottons, but recently I bought some old lady looking briefs by “Barely There” and I really like them.

Other materials bug me, so cotton all the way there. I prefer fruit of the loom type undies. I normally buy the big packs that come out during the back to school season.

Old lady cottons are often referred to as “granny panties.” Not for me.

I go with the “Barely There” by Bali; they are synthetic but with a cotton crotch. They don’t show any VPL (Visible Pantie Line) under most things, so they are my favorite.

I do have a few synthetics for travel & also synthetics with cotton crotch. I like hip huggers & whatever they sell at Costco, not the granny panties.

My favorite is from EMS: [EMS Women’s Hipster Bikini - Eastern Mountain Sports](http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3645540&cp=4294077.4296619) Not cotton.

For me, the best are the ones that are mostly cotton, with just a touch of spandex (95%/5%) They feel soft and cottony, but have a little stretch, so they fit better.

No cotton here…and NO briefs.

Thumper, we’re all on the edge of our seats wondering what you do wear.

And, if we’re gonna share, here are mine: http://www.onehanesplace.com/outlet/panties/bali-panties/-24222--1

Hanes has a line of “stretch cotton” which I like.

Poly spandex with cotton crotch…hipsters/ low rise. When I hear “briefs” I think of the things that come all the way to your waist…nope!

^^^^Ok, at least we now know you aren’t starring with Arnold Schwarsnegger^^^

what … no thongs? ha ha … I"m a Jockey women myself since an outlet store is not too far away. I have fancy schmanchy ones that really don’t show panty lines and have a cotton crotch, and then my standard hipster ones which are some kind of synthetic, however with the pure synthetic ones I do wear a panty liner. Both are from Jockey.

But my magic secret is these girdle type things (Spanx, thanks thumper1), which are shaped like bike shorts and nude in color, that keep the old bottom from jiggling when I’m wearing very lightweight fabrics. Can you say super-firm-butt?

You mean spanx?

You mean “giggling” or “jiggling”? I don’t think your butt laughs.

VeryHappy, you haven’t seen my butt jiggle then. Since I posted so recently I was able to edit my post. Thanks for catching my meandering ways, Thumper1 and VeryHappy.

But now my post makes no sense!! And if I delete it, then your post makes no sense!!

You’ve gone back in time and changed reality.
