Women: is all-cotton underwear still the recommendation?

[Jockey modern micro hipster 2027 at Jockey.com Women’s underwear styles](http://www.jockey.com/products/Modern-Micro-Hipster)

D loves these - they come in bikini, hipster and hi-cut The thicker waist band in great, and they look “better” than standard Jockey cotton alone and in terms of no thick lines with jeans.

This is also my no tag or seam kid and she wears them for sports as well. The thick, flat waist band eliminates and mechanic butt issues with snug or lower jeans.

“It’s official – CC Parent Cafe will talk about ANYTHING.”

ROFL!!! Thank goodness it is so easy to wipe coffee off my iPad’s screen! I think this discussion tops our colonoscopy threads. :D

I wear all styles but they are all cotton, some with a little spandex. My current favorites are boy shorts.

Any one wear La Perla ? Why is it so expensive ?

Underwear is also something I hate to spend big bucks on though for the use they get, I shouldn’t worry so mich about price. That said, I do like to comb through the panties rack at TJMaxx and often find the same brands from dept. stores (jockey, vanity fair, Bali , etc) for MUCH LESS than dept store prices. Just one more think to add to the TJ browsing list! :)

The Gap Body Shop can have some good deals, as well.

I love CC! :)

Sad day for me when Victoria’s Secret lowered the waistband of the “hi-rise briefs”. So reasonably priced, pretty colors and so comfy! The new kind only come up above your hip - I hate them!

Tried BarelyThere, but that fabric seems kind of “slimy” to me. I wear them, but I miss the VS 5 for $25 panties!!!

I wear only all-cotton. I have some Hanes/Jockey, but I don’t like them because they stretch strangely and get holes. My favorites are from Lands End. They are all-cotton with a tiny bit of spandex, very comfortable, beautiful, have lasted a long time. Unfortunately, LE no longer carries panties. They used to have great bras, too.

Do,they even make underwear with tags anymore? None of mine have tags. The info is printed on the fabric.

I think you’re right about that thumper.

I guess I’m still so very happy about the no tags that I can’t keep from mentioning it.
SUCH an innovation! Pretty obvious how easily impressed I am…

Commando is my favorite pricey brand, but I also really like the Nicole Miller 3 packs I find at Sam’s Club. Agree that microfiber is the way to go.

Best advice health wise - don’t sleep in any underwear.

Okay, my timeout is over … On the Soma link that jym626 posted, wow, I NEED to get some of those vanishing edge lace animal print underwear (leopard or zebra). My H will probably have a heart attack after seeing Jockey whatevers for 20 years. $16 a pair … once college is paid, I’m splurging on those as a celebration.

Mostly jockey cotton for me.

Got to wonder: will bikinis or thongs become the “granny pants” of the young women of today?

My Granny wore loose nylon boxer-type skivvies. She washed them in the bathroom sink each night and hung them to dry on the towel rod. As a young child, I thought they were elegant, because my Granny was very proper. I could not imagine myself ever being elegant enough to wear nylon drawers. :-)

Commando is a brand? Or a lifestyle trend. ;)

Did you really have to go and put that image into my brain?

54 - YAY!!! I knew guys have been following this thread. :)

Hanky Panky boyshorts ROCK! :D

Some European-designed undies still come with tags (Marie Jo, for example).

Yep, Commando is a brand.

MathildaMae: I buy Moving Comfort undies at a running store; I buy Patagonia from the Patagonia store. Warning: they’re pricey. Watch for sales (which is why I’m wearing orange-striped undies right now–they were on sale, and I don’t care why).

Google ‘commando’ , i assure you it is a lifetstyle ;)

My problem with Hanky Panky is that after I wash the a few times and dry gently they feel like steel wool. I refuse to just hang them to dry. These are, after all, underwear.
