Women Walking and Harassment

Really? Hmm, well, I disagree.

Rhandco, anybody who thinks ANY of those guys wanted to date her is clueless.

“I find it interesting that whenever these situations come up, the woman is always blamed to some degree, and some of the most verbal “blamers” are other women.”

Yes. This is where I was going with my earlier comments.

I see this all the time. I don’t get it.

For some of us this is so not surprising that there is probably an element of, “What is the big deal? Of course, that happens all the time. Did you not know that?” going on here.

“WHAT way? I am at work in a conservative law firm today. I am in my late-ish 40s and am wearing black trousers, black oxfords and a black sweater. Very similar to what the actress in the video is wearing. So I don’t understand what way she is dressing.”

I had to watch the video a second time, with my glasses on. Because the first time, she appeared dressed very conservatively, and not that attractive to me. With my glasses on, I realized she was wearing tight jeans, a very tight t-shirt, and was extremely buxom. No way are you wearing that to work!

FWIW, it was reported that she was wearing leggings/jeggings.

But she is still dressed conservatively. The issue is her top heavyness. If she were an A cup, would she be blamed by the CC posters? If she had no hips, thighs, butt would that make a difference? And dare I say, if she were blond with blue eyes, would she be given a pass? Would the posters feel pity? Be afraid for her? Would they take issue with what the men were saying?

"There is a police officer who is being charged with raping 8 women in the Midwest I think. I believe his name is Daniel Holtzclaw. He has supporters who have raised money through crowd funding. He is also the defendant in a wrongful death suit. I can’t remember the particulars(I read about him a few months back).

I wonder how many of you would be in support of him? Secretly or otherwise?"

You actually think people would support someone they thought was a serial rapist? I’m sure that anyone who would support him believes that he didn’t do it, obviously.

No, but the pants are straight legs and do have some spandex in them, and at my size, all shirts look tight. I just don’t think she was wearing anything particularly outrageous. Women in New York of all sizes, ages, and appearances wear what she’s wearing practically as a uniform.

What does what she is wearing have to do with the disgusting behavior of the men? Absolutely nothing. I don’t care if she was dressed like a street walker, men should keep their pie holes shut!

Something goes on all the time so it is ok. Your gender did not have the right in this country to vote until the 20th century, flossy. That was ok.

There is plenty of stuff that is going on that is not ok and needs to be changed.
Just because something is doesnt mean it has to stay that way.

My gender used to wear cave man clothes and dragged your gender around by the hair and beat the crap out of your gender.

I guess that was ok. No big deal.

Her issue may be buxomnes, I didn’t really notice. But, this can happen to any female with something attention getting in the wrong setting which basically means surrounded by low-lifes. It could be hair, make-up, clothing, or even attitude. And, I didn’t say it was okay but i don’t know how anyone thinks they are going to be successful at teaching low-lifes not to behave in a scuzzy fashion so I choose to to control what I can control and get outraged when it may be useful. And, not walk alone past groups of scuzzballs in tight clothes unless I’m ready to deal with that crap. But, that’s just me.

Wow.

In some parts of the world, your gender still buys and sells women.

@busdriver11‌ ,

There is a common theme of blaming the victim. Coming up with any excuse as to why she is getting unwanted attention or why others might get unwanted harassment.

Wearing makeup
Wearing tight jeans
Walking a certain way
Not walking with a man
Looking like an actress
Looking like a model
Catching the bus
Why don’t you move
You think people are out to get you

I bet some of these posters would support such a person, they would find any excuse as to why it’s okay to have forced, non consensual sex. I wouldn’t want some of these posters on a jury if I or my daughter were raped. They have a very effed up view of the world.

“In some parts of the world, your gender still buys and sells women.”

Zoosermom, that is right.

What is is . Must be ok.

@Flossy‌

So we should stay indoors or start picking out our burqas? There will always be an excuse and it doesn’t make it right.

I have seen men wearing jeans so tight that I can tell if they are circumsized. That doesn’t give me the right to yell “hey, nice package”. I guess they should wear baggier jeans…don’t get their uni brow waxed, use product in their hair or wear nice stylish clothes. If they do, they deserve to be treated like a piece of meat. Yep.

Exactly! I would never say “Hey, can I get some of that trouser monkey” because a man has on a tight pair of jeans. Then I would be called a whore right?
