@romanigypsyeyes, Did you find someone to send a pussyhat to your mom? If not, I’ve got one that I could mail out tomorrow. I’ve actually got three that are looking for a home. If your group could use them I would be happy to send them your way.
Boy… Does anyone else get the banner ad that says "get your free inaugural ticket’?
@LVKris no, the people I reached out to never answered. I will PM you!!
@notelling I am going to bet that the LA rally will be terrific. I only spent 5 days in your city last November but I left feeling that LA has really good energy. The people are welcoming and overwhelmingly positive. Enjoy the day – I am sure the camaraderie will put you in a better frame of mind.
@nottelling… welcome to the resistance
I finally saw signage about the Honolulu march–at the state capitol 1/21@9:30am. I’m going to talk with my neighbor and go with her if she’s up for it. She’s a cancer survivor and recently completed treatment. She’s active in League of Women Voters. I don’t think our state will have violence and hope that there is none in any of the marches.
@katliamom The resistance… I like that.
I’m not the only one then.
[qoute]I posted earlier that I probably wasn’t going to go, but my friends have persuaded me to go (to the LA one) for the camaraderie, if nothing else. I’m having a really, really hard time with this and as Friday comes closer I find I’m crying at random times and I feel a deep, overall sense of despair. My friends have convinced me that the march may feel uplifting and may be good for my own mental well-being (regardless whether it has any political effect).

You speak my mind @nottelling. I plan to go to the one in Raleigh NC.
That’s it. That’s my sign! " Join the Resistance".
Ignore Friday and focus on Saturdays march. It is uplifting
I bought posters and paint yesterday and the chatty clerk asked me what it was for. I told her about the march–she hadn’t heard of it. Now she’s attending!
I like “Join the Resistance” too.
Thank you for your very kind invite, @PetraMC! Sending you a PM.
@nottelling, I will be at the LA March, too. There will be a local march here in my city but my friends and I felt we needed to be a part of something BIG and energizing. Looking forward to meeting our sisters and brothers in this cause for HUMANITY.
My daughters and I will be attending the event in NYC on Saturday. DH may be joining us also.
I’ve decided to go to a local march at a small college an hour away from where I live. I doubt I’ll need to write my contact info in Sharpie on my arm for that one:) I’m excited about how this movement is gaining momentum!
I am attending the event in NYC with my H and S.
If anyone who is unable to participate in a march would like to pm me your first name, I’ll add it to the list on the back of the sign I’ll be carrying in the Austin march. Trying to pick a perfect, pithy slogan for it that won’t embarrass my mother if she sees it on the news, LOL
I’m also still taking names/initials/nicknames for my sign at the DC March. Have a long list of quotes ranging from Maya Angelou to Monty Python to Dr. Seuss, JK Rowling, Malala, Lin-Manuel, Star Trek, Margaret Atwood…plus some of the short, pithy slogans I’ve seen in various forums. Will be incredibly difficult to winnow it down to two signs…
If anyone is in the STL area, there is also a sister march in STL! Please check out the Facebook page for all the information! If you search something like Women’s March On St. Louis you should find it.
