I think Pulisic is special but am worried that Chelsea won’t be a great fit.
It does him and the USMNT no good if he just sits on the bench.

That England coach is full of sour grapes. I don’t know anything about him except that he’s been a whiner all week. I hope he’s out as coach.
The Dutch have a very strong keeper and we’re seeing the difference that can make. She’s made some clutch saves.
Agree. IMO, she was the key to the Netherlands win over Sweden.
Some questionable refereeing in the first half.
2-0! No complaints, though some ugly injuries. Goad they don’t show slo-mo of the head collisions. The leg kick to the head looked painful.
Did the Netherlands player curse out the ref after she went to watch the replay? I don’t speak Dutch so who knows, but it sure looked like she may have used an English f-bomb and up went the yellow card! And we scored
All my memories of being a goalie mom for so many years is sitting right in the pit of my stomach!
USA!!
Nice!!USA soccer ??
“Did the Netherlands player curse out the ref after she went to watch the replay?”
The Netherlands player did not touch the ball and went cleat- first into Morgan’s upper arm, so the foul was worthy of a yellow on its own.
Maybe she did curse the ref, but I think she was getting the yellow anyway.
USA! USA! USA!
???
I’m finding this win especially satisfying!
Great job, TEAM USA!!
I do think they need to lessen the role of VAR in soccer. Not sure how to do it, but it currently impacts too many games. Very glad Rose scored a goal as it would have been a shame to win that way.
The officials are not making critical calls because they know it can be reviewed. Offside in particular, unless it is blatant, but fouls in the box too. I was surprised the ref didn’t make the call or go to the VAR in the first half when Morgan was mugged in the box (although Morgan is getting a rep as overly embellishing her falls, so maybe that factored into it).
One thing that I enjoy more with women’s soccer than men’s is generally women’s games are cleaner with almost no diving or intentional faults. Agreeing with yearstogo, it will certainly help maintain the sport’s attractiveness by limiting the use of VAR, especially for situations where there is no obviously intentional fault but potentially lead to a penalty.
Refs influence the game too much. In yesterday’s Copa America game there was no way Messi deserves a red, as an example.
Well, the defender on Morgan went high, cleats up, and made no contact with the ball. Intentional or not, it’s dangerous play and imo deserved the penalty.
After beating Spain, France and England, the final seemed anti-climatic for me. I thought the ref today was fine. Perfect? No, but there didn’t seem to be any glaring errors to me.
There’s no wording of intent in the foul rules. That was a clear foul that the ref just missed. And a penalty in the box resulting in a PK is an automatic yellow, iirc. So she may have cursed at the ref, but it wasn’t the reason for the card.
I didn’t see any issues with the refs today. I actually don’t remember any games when I thought the refs were out of line (losing coach complaints not withstanding).
The US had a tough path through the bracket, beating everyone but #2 Germany - and they beat the European Champions who knocked out Germany. It may have been expected going in, but you don’t win on paper.
Well done US.
