Every single day seems more and more pointless…I feel like if a college has already excepted me, why do they care that I get this stupid piece of paper called a diploma? I mean, they know I’m smart so why can’t I just enroll now? I don’t know, I just tired of waking up at 6AM and having to go to classes at 8AM in the morning. Damn I’m just tired.

OOPSY!

“I’m just tired” is what that should say.

Because every admission is based on your successful completion of high school usually at the same standard of performance which they have accepted you. while making a little slide won’t kill you a major slide will cause the college to rescind your admission. If you should choose a school that merit aid is part of your package or if you were admitted in to an honors program, a slip in grades can make you lose those also.

Last year Dartmouth had over 1200 people on the wait list with over 700 choosing to accept a spot on it. If you should feel that you don’t want to take care of business, they will find someone who does.

1200/700, that’s a big waiting room, lol

Well I know I’m going to keep my grades up, but I’m just saying is all!!!

on huge waitlists… they ARE ridiculous. i know that some schools have waitlists that are frickin’ twice its class size, and some even more… that’s why when i started my college process i vowed not to pursue waitlists (in addition to the probability of getting crappy aid and the fact that i will have wasted >$500 in college deposit elsewhere). but yeah, i’m in trouble with slipping grades, too, but it’s not really b/c of senioritis. i’m just sorta putting schoolwork second and scholarships first. the 'rents aren’t planning on paying for my college, so i have to try to lessen the amt. of extra loans i have to take out as much as possible… gotta love mis padres.

What constitutes a major slide?

Yeah, what does constitute a major slide?

Say my GPA is 4.1

and my second semester GPA for this year was like, oh say 3.3

Would that constitute a major slide?

How many people did Dartmouth eventually take off the waitlist last year?

Calidan, you won’t have to worry about that because I know that Dartmouth will have at least one spot for you among the 1,103 spots available!

4.1 to 3.3 def isn’t the worst senioritis I have heard of, but it could be borderline. How many incoming Dartmouth freshmen had 3.3 semesters in high school, do you think?

Last year the yield was very close to what they expected it to be (in fact I think they got a few more than they wanted), so they took no one from the wait list.

Dartmouth took 24 off of the waitlist according to their common data set

hoooo boy i know what you mean about senioritis…we had a bio essay due today that i have yet to start. and this morning i didn’t have my math hw, and my math teacher, whom i REALLY like, was very disappointed, and said that I had better shape up because “god gave [me] this brain” and she expected no less than a 5 on the BC Calc exam.

guys…THERE IS NO WAY I’M GETTING A 5 lol. i feel awful! I want to do well but i know i won’t be able tooooo

for me, senioritis wasn’t a gradual thing - getting my likely flipped a switch in my brain, and I haven’t cared since.

Luckily, my teachers all expected us to stop working, so the work has gotten a lot easier - I’m actually getting better grades this semster than last!

haha it started kicking in the minute I was done sending out all the college apps. It’s only getting worse and worse as days go by haha… and yea…i think the likely letter “eased my mind” a bit too much…lol I can’t really concentrate on anything ever since I got the letter last week.

i’ll miss my high school T_T

Thanks, king. I hope you’re right!
Maybe I’ll see you next year! I hope so.

I hope I see everyone from the Dartmouth CC board at dartmouth this fall. That would be really cool.

Totally agree with you, Calidan hope everybody gets in from the CC so we can meet up at Dimensions…that would extremely cool

i think i’m going to need to start distancing myself from CC, actually. this fixation i have on dartmouth can’t be healthy. and most of the threads are now for people who are in ED or have likelys anyway lol

Yeah, I agree blu. Maybe a CC Hiatus would be good for me…
