Yes. We definitely have a different style of play. I always try to guess the solution. If I know a letter is in the solution, I’ll use it. If I know where, I’ll use it there. I’ve never used the bot - does that provide a list of possible solutions? I often wonder how you know how many options are left - guessing that’s the role of the bot?

I believe many on here play “hard mode”. Hard mode requires you to use lettered already revealed.

Yes, the 22 on the 16 includes a red X. Played 16 version the last 4 days (thanks for whoever suggested that – LOL) and got it in 21 each day prior to today. First 5 were misses today which meant the rest had to be perfect. They were not. Missed one and ran out of chances (knew the final word though).
I use this approach sometimes as well. Though my average is a little higher than the average here so maybe I don’t use it well. LOL

Wordlebot is a post-game analysis tool provided on the NYT website at WordleBot: Your Daily, Personalized Wordle Score - The New York Times . It automatically loads your most recent previous game and tells you stats about. The main stats it provides on each guess are your skill on a scale of 0-99, luck on scale of 0-99, and number of solutions remaining after that guess. It also tells you how your luck and skill compare to the NYT average, as well as the average number of guesses other NYT players took to solve it. I recommend checking it out, after your are done playing. I
For example, in the earlier 319 puzzle from May 4th (I’ll list actual words since day is over), my mother and I both used ROATE as our first word. ROATE had the following results. Capital letter means matching position (green). Lowercase means in word, but not matching position (yellow)

Seeing that the word contained a ‘t’ and ‘r’ with an ‘A’ in the middle letter, my mother’s first instinct was to guess TRAIN, which was the actual solution. After playing the game, we reviewed our results in Wordlebot for our different strategies. Wordlebot gave my mother’s guess of TRAIN very high 97/100 luck because there were 20 possible solutions in the form r_At_, and she guessed the correct one – a very lucky guess. However, Wordlebot only gave a 60 something skill because there were many other possible guesses that would eliminate a larger number of solutions than TRAIN, so in a random distribution of the 20 overall possible puzzle solutions, on average many other 2nd guesses besides TRAIN would have results in a fewer number of total guesses to solution. A high skill essentially describes my goal for each guess, so I like seeing how closely I met that goal, even if I wasn’t lucky enough to guess the overall solution quickly. I likely seeing how much of the results are due to “skill” vs luck.
Wordlebot also tells you what guesses it thinks are highest skill, and provides feedback about how to improve your game, if you are trying to improve “skill”. An example screenshot is below from Wordle 318 (a couple days ago, so listing actual guesses again) when my mother and I were comparing different types of strategies.

That’s what I do too, and I usually end up with more guesses than average. An starting to rethink my strategy!

I wasn’t feeling to great about this one, but it seems as though many people have struggled with it today.
Apparently my guesses weren’t too skilled (49) but my luck was even worse (37). Today’s average is 4.8 guesses, so my 5 was “great.” Thanks for letting us know how to find the Wordleb9t, @Data10!

I received the maximum 99/100 skill (does not give 100). Wordlebot says my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th guesses were all the best possible choices. However, I did not do as well in luck, particularly on the 2nd guess, which was only 8/100 luck.
