Workout playlist?

Now that winter is on the way, I will be working out inside more on our rowing machine.

Please share with me your playlist that will provide a whiz-by 40-45 minutes of rowing machine toil.

I haven’t used a rowing machine in many years but I recall that I just used an FM radio when on the rowing machine (typically Concept Is and Concept IIs). When running or using a stepper, your movements are fairly fast so it’s just a matter of matching the beat of the song to where you want to be at what time. So you may start out with a slower song, build up to a faster song, keep the rate up for a while and then slow it down near the end.

The stroke on a rowing machine is fairly long compared to something like running so you’d either want slower music or music where you make a stroke on every two or four beats.

Here’s my current aerobic one (for treadmill or elliptical):

Tiny Dancer Ben Folds
Bobby Jean Bruce Springsteen
Boston Augustana
Already Gone The Eagles
Stay Positive The Hold Steady
I’m Amazed My Morning Jacket
Se

Thanks audiophile, I’ll have to check these out – I’ve been rowing to Tunnel of Love, so I’m with you on the Springsteen.

I think if you can work out to “Tunnel of Love”, you can pretty much work out to anything! :D

BTW, here’s a discussion we had a couple of years ago. I usually change at least some songs on my playlist every time I work out. I see there’s no overlap with my 2006 list: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/136363-good-songs-exercise-playlist.html?highlight=playlist

Re “Tunnel of Love” – either I can work out to anything or I really need some help!

Thanks for the link – I thought I remembered an early thread on this topic…
