World Cup fever!

What an unreal game

About time Spain scored.

OK lets stop now. How much time left?

!!!

Done and done!

Once again, the octopus is right. Boo

OK. OK. OK. I am going to make parakeet rotisserie. Can someone recommend me some Spanish beer? Please don’t let me use Corona or Dos Equis.

^^Alhambra

ole, ole, Espana gana! anyhow, the game was kind of violent…i’m not sure if it’s me, but I think Netherlands created more opportunities for goal. Casillas is an excellent goal keeper…overall, Espana played better, and their game was cleaner than Netherlands…

I think Spain just hid their dirty fouls better. They were much better actors when they fell and rolled around writhing in pseudo-agony. However, they did have beautiful footwork and great speed.

Campeones, campeones, ole ole ole!

I take it Spain won. I fell asleep midway through the second half and woke up ~30 minutes later and found I hadn’t missed anything. Still 0-0. After watching some more no scoring I drifted off again. This time when I woke up it was all over.

Not telling!

Now the soccer withdrawal begins…though I had it whipped when D went away to college…after the last few weeks, I am afraid it may be back again.
Also glad there was no shoot out. Has there ever been a WC won in a shoot out?

2006 and 1994

I thought it was a good thing that the Dutch (and the English) did not win in South Africa.

I missed the whole thing, but I’ll catch a replay of the extra time …

Viva la roja!!

I know a few people who were rooting against the Dutch because of their history in South Africa.

As a relative newcomer to the sport (I don’t count the kid soccer that my S played), after the US lost, it was fun to cheer for a team just because I like their style of play or individual players. I am now acquainted with many of the major names currently playing the sport. Although I don’t see the majority of people in the US becoming fans, I think with the growth of cable tv, it will be easier to follow. In the past, we were at the mercies of NBC, ABC, and CBS.
