The Hispanic members at our church were obviously absent from Mass this morning. I wonder if the Germany-Mexico game had anything to do with it!!! Of course, it did. I am sure our 2 pm Spanish mass will be packed.
I’m glad Mexico won. I wish the announcer had been the guy from Peru-Denmark.
Are you talking about Telemundo or Fox Sports?
Brazil and Neymar are struggling.
I think Brazil and Germany struggled today because England is lurking out there. We’re alrwady in their heads!
@coolweather – I was talking Fox Sports. Jorge Perez-Navarro is a fun announcer to listen to.
When watching Mexico in World Cup play it’s best to go to Telemundo. Even if you don’t speak Spanish!
That’s what I did today. I don’t have FS.
Today’s Matches:
8AM ET Sweden v South Korea
11AM ET Belgium v Panama
2PM ET Tunisia v England
I am disappointed with the Korea team. And I don’t understand the late penalty review.
Yes!!! Sweden beats South Korea! Lovely prelude to England’s big victory later today
This is shaping up to be an amazing WC!
I’m not convinced about the new penalty review process in general. I’ll withhold my final judgment and see how it goes over the course of the tournament but I don’t like how it messes with the flow of the game.
This sounds awful. Poor planning if this is a perennial issue for the area.
As long as the the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) gets the call correct, then I think it’s great for the game. So far, it’s seems much quicker than video review in baseball, football and basketball.
Looking forward to watching the 2nd half of the England game live. :-??
The stadium is REALLY empty. Is it the bugs? Maybe people just haven’t filed in yet.
Come on England !!!
England came to play.
I think I could been left alone on the back post, like Harry Kane, and put that header into the back of the net.
I was only able to watch the 2nd half, but it certainly looked like England dominated the possession and deserved the win.
Tuesday’s schedule:
8AM ET Colombia v Japan
11AM ET Poland v Senegal
2PM ET Russia v Egypt
Apart from Germany, did any European team lose in the first set of games?
DS2 is home for a couple of days to catch up on Dr. appointments. He was up at 4:45 this morning to catch the Japan/Columbia game (we are on the west coast). Another upset but he said it was a good game. Columbia played with 10 for most of the game due to a red card. Son was climbing back into bed as I left for work.
