CC is nt that bad i believe :p

It depends, really. Of course if you place highly in the competition, it becomes a bonus to your application. Then again it’s not amongst the most coveted academic competitions around.

thnx 1234d for ur reply
does it have an edge over things…

what do you mean by “having an edge over things”?
p.s. anyway, haven’t you already applied to college?

No, we are in the class of '14
For Indians, do you have something better in mind?
And hows the accommodation/security etc. at Nanyang? My parents are paranoid ![]()
Also, the guys who have won the WSC… Where are they now? I’d like some anecdotal proof of the effect WSC can have on your college prospects.

Idk, for internationals there’s not a competition which will make you a shoe-in for American schools. My friend (from Taiwan) who received the top award at ISEF got rejected from many schools.
On the other hand, things like essays and teacher recommendations can work wonders!

regarding NTU, the security is very good as far as I know (I was just there today!) Accommodation-wise it’s also not too bad, though there’s nothing to rave about obviously.

Thanks 1234! Whats the cheapest possible accommodation in Singapore near Nanyang Girls School?

LOL. There’s not much accomodation in the NYGH area afaik. You’re better off thinking about the city area. Also, if you’re giving thought to WSC, you had better be prepared to do well in it. Participation carries little (if any) worth.

But how do I ascertain if I’m good enough? There are not too many sample papers etc. at their site…

Yar, Nanyang Girls’ is located at some rich men’s area so there’s few - if any - cheap accomodation there.
