Worst Dressed: When Ugly AND Expensive Meet

I wouldn’t wear the Chewbacca “scuffette” (is that the sound your feet make when shuffling in them?) but I think they’re awesome :D. And it doesn’t meet the prereq for the thread-the price point is ok.

Scuffette and Scuff (for men) are the official names of Uggs slipper styles. Uggs makes them in many different colors! I too think the Chewbacca slipper is hilarious, not butt ugly or bat… crazy, like, for example, those Louboutins.

I just saw one of these purses recently at a fundraiser on Nantucket–so ugly and so expensive. I probably posted another of her creations earlier on this thread. Here is a new creation. http://www.neimanmarcus.com/Judith-Leiber-Couture/Designers/cat11710734/c.cat

LOL. I don’t get Judith Leiber’s stuff - it looks like something that should be sold on Etsy for a fraction of the price.

I love a lot of the Leiber bags, but of course I would never buy one.

But it is a (deep breath) a JUDITH LIEBER!!! Serious note: At my local Niemans the days prior to a award shoe they are “sold out”. No…they were “purchased” for the show and then returned. (I found a used kleenex in a bag…with another feminine object…thankfully not used.)

Some people use the bags in their dressing room at home as an art piece. To each their own…

I just donated a Judith Leiber bag (not mine) to Goodwill. The resale shops I go to won’t take it. They say styles have changed and they won’t get anything for it. So be it. Kind of like old St John knits - only one resale shop in my area takes them, and it’s an older-lady clientele.

For the budget minded–a used JL bag:

… with missing crystals. For $1200. Hard pass.

I like the little JL sparkly clutches that aren’t animal shapes. I have one that I “inherited” but I never have anywhere to carry it anymore…can’t even remember the last New Year’s we got all dressed up…I think the kids were toddlers. Oh well, the clutches are timeless and I have no daughters so it can sit in the drawer I guess. I agree that it’s not worth taking to a resale shop and I can’t bear to give it to Goodwill.

Shoes for $600 that look like something I would have used in the garden if they looked like this:

Nice find! I am laughing out loud because I just threw out a pair that looked almost like that $600 one! I declared them too ratty for yardwork.

Expensive sneakers are collectible, and some of them go up in value significantly. So the fashion side of me thinks those sneakers are ridiculous, but the side of me that watches rich people collector trends sees these shoes as something made more for that market.

This shoe is now appearing in my ad feed. That wedge in that color is creeping me out.https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/shoes/platforms/brian-atwood-studded-platform-booties-1

Here’s another one: https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/shoes/platforms/brian-atwood-studded-platform-booties-1

However they are both under $200 so probably don’t belong in this thread!

Real Real is a resale site where (with a handful of exceptions) the prices are 70 or so % off retail… Imagine how much the shoes cost brand new?

Those shoes are actually kind of amazing looking, mathmom, but I can’t even beging to imagine the torture of actually wearing them. Maybe at least they wouldn’t pinch one’s toes.

Hmm, I seem to have posted the same shoe twice. The one that creeped my out was this one: https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/shoes/wedges/yves-saint-laurent-animal-print-ponyhair-wedges

Oh…I think if one is going to inflict pain on oneself in such a manner one should also order a nice cilice to complete the set. http://www.cilice.co.uk/hairshirts.html

@dietz199 Oh. My. God. !!

This shoe looks painful, plus ugly and expensive.
