Here’s a very special gown for just $31,000. It is missing much of the bodice and of course is backless. It has potential but it doesn’t quite have enough bodice for all but the most daring and of course very sheer but printed.
Who buys this stuff?
Ooooooo – I’m still looking for my MOG dress. Anyone of these would fit the bill!!!
(I can just see my FDIL’s face when I emerge in one of these . . . . :)) )
Obviously the buyers have bigger clothing budgets and less taste than the rest of us.
That Valentino dress is very similar to what you can find on some of the Red Carpet events. Some of the young celebrities seem to believe they don’t need any bodice as long as they have tape or glue or whatever keeps the bit of fabric in place. In a lot of cases, it just makes it more obvious that they don’t have much of a bosom.
I find it unattractive and WAY overpriced.
They also have smaller breasts.
Speak for yourself, @Marian.
Why would one buy a garment to emphasize the lack of a bosom, especially for $31,000? I am frankly very puzzled.
Laughing hard over the “free shipping” on $11.000 dress. At that price it really ought to be delivered by a prince.
I’ve clicked on so many of the links in this thread that now photos of hideous dresses are showing up in my Faceboo feed. Yuck!
Okay, throw me out of the club, but I think that Zack Posen dress is just beautiful. On the right person.
I really like the Zac Posen dress too…
And the really hideous ones I looked at are showing up on my ads on this site and fb.
Oh my gosh the puff balls dress! =))
Reduced from $960 to $240, so I guess it’s not expensive anymore. But it sure is ugly. http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/Stella-McCartney-Ruffled-Metallic-Print-Blouse/prod124242463/p.prod?ECID=BGDR__CRT&utm_medium=display%20remarketing&utm_source=BGDR__CRT
I was walking through Nordstrom last week and, for some reason, these shoes caught my eye.

I cannot for the life of me imagine any situation in my life, real or imagined, where I’d wear them.
That blouse from Stella McCartney wouldn’t be so awful if it didn’t have what looks like a really bad surgical scar down the middle.
I could see wearing those shoes to – nothing. And they’re only $1900!!
Those shoes hurt my feet just looking at them!
They don’t look like they would hurt my feet, they look like they would lead to my breaking an ankle in about 2 minutes.
I mean, how do you WALK in platforms that high? Clump around? Raise your knees like a Hackney show pony?
You shuffle like the Japanese.

Me thinks there is irrational exuberance in the designer world…
