Worst Dressed: When Ugly AND Expensive Meet

I like the little monster one. https://www.farfetch.com/shopping/women/burberry-creature-applique-card-case-item-12672372.aspx?storeid=11115&rtype=certona_portal_pdp_generic_anon_a&rpos=1 It makes me laugh that there is just a bit of the traditional Burberry plaid peaking through.

These aren’t expensive. Just ugly. https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/lauren-ralph-lauren-linen-wide-leg-crop-pants-100-exclusive?ID=2956969&CategoryID=1003154#fn=SPECIAL_OFFERS%3DSales%20&%20Offers%26ppp%3Dundefined%26sp%3D1%26rId%3D132%26spc%3D486%26cm_kws%3Dwomens%2520ralph%2520lauren%26spp%3D21%26pn%3D1%7C6%7C21%7C486%26rsid%3Dundefined%26smp%3DmatchNone

Paired with this tee, those pants would make a smashing outfit:

Note the condition and the price (which is supposed to be a fraction of retail).

And how about a pair of casual and dress shoes for day and evening wear for that outfit: (which do you prefer? Buy both!)

I love how this thread will be dormant for a while. Then, after one person posts for the first time in a few months, everyone else comes up with their recent fashion discoveries.

In all seriousness, would those shoes be TSA compliant? They look like they are weaponized.

TSA is definitely going to take a close look!

OMG.

=))

Confession: those RL linen pants in #703 look an awful lot like a pair of navy & white cotton pants I sewed for myself in 8th grade (because I’m short, the RL pants would probably hit the ground even in my old buffalo leather platform sandals.)

@Silpat - We want a picture!!

@jym626 LOL! Believe me, no one wants to see that. I sewed most of my non-school uniform clothes for years. They ranged from “granny” dresses (peasant blouse tops with maxi skirts) to a hot pants jumpsuit, plus a few church-suitable dresses, too. There’s little in this thread that’s worse than those clothes from the late '60s - early '70s.

Ah @silpat we are sew sisters.

Yeah, I had to see anything I wanted to wear to a prom or banquet. I sewed some gowns with tons of pieces. I stopped sewing when I realized I was seeing the same size as my godmother who was 40+ years older and 50+ pounds heavier. I favored princess line dresses, some of which were lined.

I sewed my own clothes in the 70s, too. Some of those clothes would make for good conversation pieces today.

I sewed my own clothes in the 70s also, until I started needing to dress “professionally.” I really enjoyed sewing, though, and would love to get back to it. It’s very relaxing.

I also used to see my own clothes back in HS. Made DS#2’s window treatments about 15!years ago and bought a new sewing machine but haven’t touched it since. Well, there are so many lovely (ahem) choices of clothes posted on this thread, why make our own?

If I were to wear those clogs in post #705, virtually no one I know would say “Wow, what cool Balenciaga clogs!” Nope, they would ask, “How did you get such tall Crocs?”

And they now have high heeled crocs - https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-cyprus-v-heel/201301.html (currently sold out - have been getting a lot of press this week)
