Re Post #778: A thousand dollars for sneakers??!! There is absolutely nothing special about those, except for the fact that they’re really ugly.
Better not step in doggie doo with them thar ‘chain link’ soles…just saying…
This isn’t ugly, per se, just matronly https://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/Valentino-Long-Sleeve-Heart-Print-Dress-w-Bow/prod138510288/p.prod?eVar4=You%20May%20Also%20Like
And this lovely combo. Leaving trim hanging - could get caught on those lovely shoes 8-> https://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/Altuzarra-Grenelle-Long-Sleeve-Broderie-Anglaise-Midi-Dress/prod135390072/p.prod?ECID=BGDR__CRT&utm_medium=display%20remarketing&utm_source=BGDR__CRT
Marked down from $2200. What a bargain.
The dress is… meh- ok (without the dangling trim) but neither are my cuppa tea.
The dress in Post #782 could be comfortably worn by a nun.
Wow, now any high-necked dress is fodder for this thread? I think it’s pretty.
@“Cardinal Fang” , I’m all for ladylike, feminine dresses, but that bow is just too big and heavy. The second dress looks like something that would be worn in a stage production of Heidi. Or maybe Kristin Lavransdottir. (SP?)
■■■■■ bows don’t work on me and I would not wear that dress, but the bow doesn’t read as heavy to me, not in crepe de chine. I like the fabric, I like the fitted waist and knife pleats in the skirt, I like the soft gathers at the neck. I like the graceful way the ends of the bow fall long.
I could see it for an ambassador.
Hopefully the ambassador is purchasing his/her/their wardrobe with his/her/their own funds…like or don’t like it…#782 is not worth the asking price.
I’m not here to defend prices.
I am all over the real silk crepe de chine aspect of it.
I am all over the fabric and the color, but sheesh - it is the combo of the sleeves and the bow that make it so matronly. And the price… what else would you expect from Valentino?
IMO, if you make it a faux halter neck by removing the sleeves and moving the bow to the back, it would be smashing.
They did THAT with cashmere yarn? What a tragic waste.
I’ve never owned any cashmere and don’t know if that crocheted cardigan could be washed, but if it could (and I’d recently won the lottery) I would buy that to wear at home on cold winter nights because it reminds me of my beloved grandmother who loved to crochet. I can just imagine curling up with a cozy British mystery on my Kindle and a cup of hot chocolate and feeling as if I were wrapped in one of her hugs.
OTOH, as outerwear in public? No way.
I always wanted to wear Grandma’s afgan! I love cashmere, but the moths always seem to find it.
A new designer fridge, anyone?

:))
$50,000 for a painted sculpture (that happens to also keep your food cold) doesn’t seem out of line to me. It looks kind of fun, actually. If you can’t afford one of the fridges, there is also a toaster: https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/smeg-dolce-gabbana-x-smeg-sicily-is-my-love-toaster-prod208490061
The description says that that refrigerator has a freezer that needs to be defrosted manually. No, thank you!
