WORST MOVIE you have ever seen

Kate and Leopold. Hated it so much I have never been able to watch Meg Ryan in anything ever again, including When Harry met Sally, which I liked the first time I saw it.

It was called “The Dentist” starring Corbin Bernsen. He had some serious anger issues and used construction power tools (like a real drill) to destroy people. It was one of those movies that was so “out there” that I sat and watched the whole thing.

Here here.

And Moulon Rouge? I actually went to a neighborhood ladie’s party because the hostess had seen it and loved it sooooooo much and wanted us all to watch. I got thrown out because I kept pointing out how derivative it was.

so funny that you got thrown out dragonmom- I thought it was a ridiculous movie and would have had a hard time not making fun of it.

Moonlight Mile

Memento

Ghost Ship

Flowers for Algernon (the movie version was absolutely awful!)

Dan in Real Life

clerks 2
scarface (i actually threw up from the violence)
that hannibal lecter movie, I had to wait out in the lobby because i found it so upstetting.

Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome…it was AWFUL!!! Walked out of the movie it was so bad.

I walked out of ‘W’. Must admit, I don’t like Oliver Stone movies. The only thing worse than an Oliver Stone movie, is an Oliver Stone movie with Kevin Costner in the lead role.

"Demon Seed’ is on my dream computer movie film festival list. Can’t get much better than a computer impregnating Julie Christie ;-)

Am surprised no one has listed any Peter Greenaway movies. I enjoyed ‘The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, & Her Lover’, but it is certainly not to everyone’s taste.

Boxing Helena was pretty sick.

Woman in the Dunes.

“The Break Up” with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston was pretty excruciating.

I have actually seend The Dentist…horrid

I am embarassed to admit that I watched a movie called Black Christmas w/ my daughter and her friends one night

How about that Ricky Bobby movie…can’t remember the name

The Island of Dr. Moneuo (sp) with Marlon Brando

I saw “Demon Seed” decades ago on TV. It wasn’t the worst movie ever, but what a preposterous plot! Still for the 70’s, having a computer control functions in your house, and then having it take you prisoner, must have seemed like a plausible fear. I thought it was funny.

However, after I was dragged to “Over the Hedge”, I decided that even my youngest D was old enough to go to movies without me!

I wonder how much of this is influenced by whether you saw the movie on a big screen with an audience, or on TV. For example, I liked “My Dinner with Andre,” but I saw it on a big screen. I don’t know how it would be on TV.

I once saw “The Razor’s Edge” with Bill Murray. It was a terrible movie. But I saw it on the giant, beautiful screen at the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan–so the scenery was still impressive. It made the movie seem a bit better.

Hunt–I saw My Dinner with Andre on a abig screen. Being stuck in a movie seat writhing with boredom while that guy droned on and on and on and I waited for the friend to tell him he was totally full of BS, which I dont recall happening, is still one of my most painful movie experiences. I definitely had an “emperor’s new clothes” moment–I kept thinking, are you kidding me??? But no, apparently there was no kidding involved.

There are a few movies that seem to be “love or hate” movies–“My Dinner with Andre,” “Napoleon Dynamite,” anything by Quentin Tarantino, etc. I’m fascinated by those who hated movies that most people like (like “Wall E”).

No doubt about it for me: Epic Movie

I’ve only read reviews of Human Centipede, and even the description of the movie haunts me!!!

I don’t agree with some of your choices (e.g. I enjoyed American Beauty and thought Eyes Wide Shut and even Ishtar weren’t all that bad.) However, BRAVO to the folks on CC for calling BS on many critically aclaimed/Academy Award winning movies!

That was a lousy movie…and i don’t think Meg Ryan has been in anything since!

Whatever happened to Meg Ryan, anyway?

BTW, thanks all (not!) for reviving my memory of the Pokemon movie. I had successfully expunged it.

Interesting thread. There is this strange missing of common ground with some posters equating upsetting content with a “bad” movie while others are judging on artistic content. I judge movies by how uncomfortable the movie seat becomes as I sit through it. My two worst butt aches were: 1) Avatar, would it never end? and 2) ET, nothing, nothing, nothing at all entertaining about it. Insipid plot, bad acting and predictable gimmicks are a huge turn off for me.

I’ve seen them both … and it is not close at all … the first one is beyond horrible … and to make it worse we got stuck in the first row cranning our necks to watch … fortunately SecondToGo was so young he actually thought it was OK.
