Would it be tacky to wear the same MOG dress twice?

Do you have Photoshop, or have a friend who does? This photo is easily fixable.

Oh my goodness - I’m the OP who started this thread. We’ve had out of town guests visiting and I hadn’t had time to check this board for several days. I was very surprised to see that this thread has grown to 30 pages long!

Thank you so much to everyone who responded. You’ve given me some great advice and many ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. Regardless of what I end up wearing, I am so happy for my son and future dil and I know their wedding day will be a joyous one.

P.S. I had to smile at the shoe discussion - I LOVE shoes and shoe shopping and my d told me last year she thought I was getting carried away and to stop buying them for her. I was telling one of my co-workers and she said “ok, then buy them for me!” :)

:P

Or me!

I haven’t followed this thread but I just picked up my MOG dress from the dry cleaners. I love, love, love it and would absolutely wear it again; I don’t care what anyone (except maybe the bride) thinks.

I see you’ve moved on to shoes. I wore these Clarks nude slingback pumps–
<a href=“Clarks cynthia fest nude patent leather + FREE SHIPPING | Zappos.com”>Clarks cynthia fest nude patent leather + FREE SHIPPING | Zappos.com;
A slingback is always better with my narrow heel. I put a little moleskin around the toe opening and they were pretty comfortable right out of the box (and I rarely wear heels).

I’ve always been a pain about foot comfort. When I was a child, my mother had a hard time keeping me in shoes, especially dressy shoes, because I always took them off. But at one point she bought me a pair of soft red calfskin mary jane-ish shoes made by Bally of Switzerland–the real Bally, not the cheaper American-made ones–and I adored them. still remember those shoes with great fondness.

Spoiled me for life. :)

BTW, where does one buy moleskin? I need to get something like that to cushion my foster dog’s gentle leader, since he appears to have unusually delicate skin on his face.

OP - congratulations again! Yay to shoes. :)

Consolation, you can find it in drugstores (CVS, Bartells or whatever chain is in your town) in the foot care section. Or if you buy things from Amazon, it sells moleskin, too!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007W9MGLI/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1406047807&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40</a></p>

My aversion to wearing shoes probably started when I was forced to wear baggy cotton anklets, with stiff saddle shoes. I also had tactile defensiveness, ( which no one knew about then, but it made me more sympathetic to my daughter when she wore the same Tevas, shorts & a tank top for the whole of 4th grade) so it drove me even more crazy than it did other kids. I couldn’t concentrate in school, because it was so uncomfortable.
Boy, I hated saddle shoes.

This thread also reminds me that I need to go to the consignment shop.
Someone, who is my size and coloring, frequently drops off a closet full of clothes when ever Nordstroms has a big sale.
The clothes are also often from east coast or European boutiques, so they are much more appealing than going to the mall.

I also vote that the OP should do as she wishes. However, she did ASK FOR OPINIONS. I don’t get how giving a solicited opinion is labeled as “forcing” one’s values on another if that opinion just happens to be different from another’s POV.

I would NEVER wear the same dress to both Ds’ weddings but that is because it would bother ME to see myself in the same dress in the photos. Not because it’s tacky, or that I would worry about what other people thought of me. It would solely be based on my own feelings about it. Others beyond family would not likely be looking at the photos side by side, but I would. If it killed me, I’d find a way to get two dresses I felt ecstatic about. Since I absolutely hate to shop for clothes, it probably would almost kill me, ha ha.

The OP is different, however. She loves the dress, has looked and looked to no avail, and apparently would have no problem with wearing it again beyond the little voice whispering in her ear that it might be “tacky.” I would vote that it is NOT tacky, it is a personal decision, and she should go with what makes HER happy rather than worrying about what others think.

Seriously, probably the only place the two pictures would ever be side by side is in the OP’s own living room!

Taryn Rose is a nice brand for those who are into foot comfort.

WSIAMWT: (What shoes I am wearing today):
Light blue silk top, black cropped pants, and these shoes … bought when I was on a business trip to Las Vegas (seriously), wandered into the Kate Spade store, and these were on super-duper clearance because only my size was left. Score!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/KATE-SPADE-NEW-NIB-NERA-Black-Leather-Flats-Low-Heel-Shoes-Pump-Gold-Logo-7-/181075883355</a></p>

Yes, quite likely. We are kind of bad about having photos of our kids all over our house (again, it’s what makes us happy-I’d rather look at my Ds than a painting of a bowl of fruit). I KNOW someday we will have wedding photos displayed in our house. I don’t want to look at myself in the same dress at two weddings. Just a personal preference.

I did finally buy an original painting this year, my first REAL piece of art. So it’s not ALL about the Ds. Mostly, but not all. :">

Those are very cute shoes! Pizzagirl, I just wrote about Taryn Rose in the shoe thread. Great minds… ;)

WSIAMWT: (What shoes I am wearing today):
These very comfy wedges in gray suede (kind of matching the color of the sky at the moment  )
http://m.nordstrom.com/s/3775988/?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_pla=shoes:women:pumps&cm_ite=tod’s_‘zeppa’_wedge_pump_(women):717077&cm_ven=pricegrabber&mr:referralID=cc9a2c54-11d4-11e4-8f3d-001b2166c2c0</a></p>

It was my surprise Nordstrom buy - they usually sell out fast as soon as they go in sale, but out of the blue, a pair in my size appeared on the website, 55 or 60% off!

Later tonight, I will be wearing this beauty:

<a href=“Hoka one one kailua tarmac pink white black 1 + FREE SHIPPING | Zappos.com”>http://m.zappos.com/hoka-one-one-kailua-tarmac-pink-white-black-1</a></p>

:)

Oh, WSIAMWT, huh? I like! It’s like OOTD 2.0. :))

I shall be wearing these beauts. Notice the flappy leather straps for decoration, not function. The beautiful arch that structures the foot and guarantees long terms damage to not only your ankle joints, but your knees, as well. :)

I’m barefoot right now, but I have to zip over to the butcher to get some bacon, sausages and coldcuts, and will wear these fine shoes:
http://shop.pearlizumi.com/product.php?product_id=1796234</a></p>

Some of you are really into shoes!

I’m terrible-got my black pair, my black boots, a brown pair, black pumps, tennis shoes, and nursing clogs. That’s about it. Oh, and some black flat sandals for summer.

@1moremom: I love those shoes!

I’m planning to wear these in the champagne color: http://www.amazon.com/David-Tate-Womens-Rosette-Evening/dp/B002FB5VGA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406058631&sr=8-1&keywords=david+tate</a></p>

I am wearing these:

http://www.crocs.com/crocs-meleen/11853,default,pd.html?cid=28M&cgid=women-footwear-sandals</a></p>

There is a bite out of the back of the right one, thanks to foster dog. :)

Goodness, Consolation, your doggy has a sensitive snout yet is not afraid to fight with crocs? I have a pair of those as my garden shoes - the crocs and Hokas are all hanging out with my fancy pants footwear by the front door! D says I have to hide my strappy sandals since one of her cats likes to chew on anything that resembles strings.

Lol lots of my shoes have little nibbles out of them.
