Would this be worth it?

These are all of the AP’s I will be taking next year. (my junior year) I would say I am a pretty motivated student. I had straight A’s my Freshman and Sophomore years, but I only took one AP my Sophomore year and none my Freshman year. I am also involved of lots of extra-curriculars that would take up some time too.

I am interested in science/math/engineering, in case that is a factor. The 2 AP’s I am considering to self-study are subjects am I interested in. (I’m not just taking them to try and improve my apps.) I am just worried that it may not be worth the time and effort it would take to do 7 AP’s with all of my extra-curriculars.

Is it worth it to take all of these classes and to self-study the other 2 AP’s? Should I just stick to the classes, or the classes and only self-study 1 AP? Would this really help to improve my college applications?

Taking the Class:
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP Physics B
AP English Language
AP U.S. History

Self-Study:
AP Environmental Science
AP Psychology

Thanks in advance.

It’s always worth it to do AP classes. Even with great EC’s I’m pretty sure good grades in AP classes can’t hurt at all. Especially if you want to apply to premiere schools.

Yeah, I will probably end up doing them all. Thanks for the opinion.

Depending on where you decide to go to school, some of those AP classes may not count for credit or they may be elective credits. So I would read up on the individual school policies if money was an issue. Otherwise, it can’t hurt to do them all- and more!

I wouldn’t bother with the self studies I dont think they really add much to apps. Well, maybe do psych. Using Barron’s it should take you about 2-3 days to learn all the material. It’s the first day of AP testing you can just learn it the weekend before.

I agree that the self studies don’t mean much. as for the AP classes, it’ll depend on your school
