<p>Zoosermom, my mom is also a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed at 81, had a mastectomy, and is healthy and cancer-free now at age 86. We got through it all o.k. and I’ll say a prayer that you and your mom do, too.</p>

<p>Zoosermom, I am a BC survivor (class of 2007) and would be happy to share my very positive experience with you. Advances in treatment are happening all the time, and I was the beneficiary of at least one of them. There are also excellent resources available, in particular

which has its own discussion forum. Both my surgeon and my oncologist are on the professional advisory board there. Please PM me, if you care to, with the specifics of your mom’s diagnosis. I have become something of a breast cancer info junkie.</p>
