bumping this up to remind you, zmom, that we are thinking about you and offering our best wishes for you tomorrow at the doctor’s appt.

Zoosermom,

I will also keep you and your mother in my prayers, and I hope that the doctor’s appointment goes as well as possible.

My wife had gone thru 2 bouts with breast cancer. 15 years apart. She’s healthy today after operations, knock on wood. Most women today come out of breast cancer with their health and family intact, that’s the most important thing. Hang in there.

Thinking of you and your mother, zm.

Like so many others on this forum, I’ve been thinking about you and your mom, Zmom. You and your mom will get through this. Take care.

I would like to thank you all again for your thoughts and kind words. They mean more than I can say.

So here’s the update: mom has pneumonia (mild case), so the doctors are of the view that resolving that is the first priority. Next will be a bone scan, MRI and I think a couple of other tests to see where and how far it has spread. My brother actually went with her, so he told me that the oncologist is optimistic and said that the cancer is non-aggressive and that we have time to resolve the pneumonia, get lots of information, and then make decisions. He couldn’t say how much it had spread other than to multiple lymph nodes, but he is planning to find out.

Thank you all again.

That does sound promising, zm. Thank you for the update.

ZM, That sounds like as good of a report that you could get under the circumstances. This sounds fairly positive.

Best of luck to your mum, ZM!

I’ll keep you and your mom in my prayers… that does sound like somewhat good news so far…

zmom, this does sound like a fairly positive initial report – especially the “non-aggressive” part. Your mom is fortunate to have the support of you and your brother. Take care.

Glad you updated us, zoosermom. The fact that your mom’s cancer is non-aggressive is great news.
Please keep us posted. Best wishes to you, your mom, and your family.

zm, I’m thinking of y’all. My Lil Sis is doing fine a few years out from her initial diagnosis. The treatments were “no fun” and almost killed her dead but they seem to be effective.

ZM, I’m glad to hear there are some good news. One little step at a time, and the destination will be reached. My best wishes to your mom.

I just saw this, Zoose. My mom had breast cancer with lymph node involvement. It took a little while, but she’s been cancer-free for a couple of years now. Your mother and family are in my thoughts and prayers.

ZMom- is your mother quite elderly? I once read that, although the risk for breast cancer increases with age, that the later-occuring cases are often less aggressive. Hope that is true in her case. At least the initial report sounds hopeful.

lspf72, she’s 81 and does have other health issues, but the doctor said that her age was actually a benefit in this circumstance.

Thank you all again, so much, for the good wishes.
