Thanks, zm, I am doing very well and am fortunate to have great doctors and an excellent prognosis. It’s my impression that you live in NYC (though maybe I’m mixing you up with someone else). If so – having access to a major urban cancer center (or hospital with a cancer center) is a real plus. I have also come to the conclusion that if you have to have cancer, breast cancer is a pretty good option. It is so well studied and its treatment is so advanced compared to other cancers.

Zoos, hugs to you and your mom. Let us know what the oncologist has to say next Tuesday. Knowing you (virtually) as I do, I’m sure you will be armed with questions and that you’ll ask follow-ups when he doesn’t completely answer you (or when he answers in jargon). Your mom is very lucky to have you right now.

Sending good vibes to you and your mom. I have several friends who have had breast cancer, and all are doing well, including one who was diagnosed about 8 years ago. One of my friend’s breast cancer spread to her ovaries 4 years ago. She’s still doing well – working full time and raising her kids.

Oh, zoos, I am so sorry to hear the news about your mom. I just happened to see this thread.
As a survivor, I will send special vibes and love and light to you and your mom. When I was first diagnosed, I drove myself crazy reading all I could on breast cancer. But there are so many different types, and there is SO much information out there, I was overwhelmed. So I waited until each test came back to study up on my particular type. When I went through treatment, I used a lot of meditation and imagery to “see” the cancer leaving my body.
Please take good care of you, so you can be there for her. Please keep us updated. We are all here for you, and for your mom.
All the best.

Praying for you all!

My mother is a breast cancer survivor. She’s been cancer free for 10 years now.

Absolutely, we’ll add you both to our prayers.

All the best to her. :)

All positive thoughts for your mom and more of the same for you, Zoosermom.

I am so sorry, zoosermom… I am praying for your mom and for you, and thinking good thoughts all around.

So so sorry Zoosermom…I’m sending my thoughts, prayers and vibes…wishing your mom the very best possible recovery.

Sending thoughts and prayers for your mom’s full recovery. All the best, zoosermom.

Adding my wishes to those above; take care of yourself, and may the light shine on your mother.

Sending prayers her way…your way too.

Prayers to her and your family, too. My Mom’s a breast cancer survivor as yours will be hopefully. Things like this help put our other worries in perspective, don’t they?

Adding my prayers and good wishes to the list, zmom.

Zmom, I just noticed this thread for the first time, and wanted to say how sorry I am. And to add my prayers and best wishes to everyone else’s. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself, too.

Donna

My most positive thoughts are with you and your mother.

Zooserman, I will keep your mother in my prayers.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 15 years ago. It had spread into her lymph nodes. She was terrified, since she had lost her very good friend to breast cancer a few years prior - and it had been a very difficult illness. Fortunately, my mom was much more fortunate; she hasn’t had a recurrence in all these years. I hope your mom experiences the same.

Adding my prayers also.
