Boy, people are hard on Amal. C’mon: She’s so much more than just a mannequin. She’s a respected barrister with an international reputation. On top of that, she has the body, the face, the hair, the taste and the money to indulge in great fashion. What’s wrong with that? Her critics sound – well, a tad envious and petty
@rosered55 My husband and I both noticed the horse closest to the front of the carriage. He looked twitchy, os relieved he didn’t try to bolt! Loved to watch them ride, wave and smile to the crowds. And how funny, when Al Roker yelled to Meghan, it seemed like she heard him!
I wonder if the Markle family rift is older than we think? Her mom, Doria, was at the first wedding, but no sign of dad or step sibs in online photos. When she decided to call it quits on the marriage, Meghan alleged mailed back to first hubby the rings; apparently he was totally blindsided and had no idea it was coming. They were together 5yrs before they married…
This is true @cameo43 - heard yesterday they started dating in July 2016 (??). Going by Will and Kate’s timeline that is whirlwind LOL. But at their ages they are old enough to know probably (hopefully).
So when do we get some Harry/Meghan babies? (another reason not to dally at their ages)
OK, I normally love Amal’s style but didn’t like that look yesterday. It was the color - felt too garish to me. Oprah’s felt too blah, Amal felt too far the other direction.
@doschicos - probably in 6 or 7 months from now, a princeling will be born ‘early’ :))
OK by me.
I have a feeling if that happens, the couple aren’t going to worry about putting out the specious claim in was an “early” birth. I bet they could care less.
From The New Yorker:
Given the intense wedding planning, I’d file this under “Things that aren’t gonna happen for $1000, Alex.” But I would bet on an addition by this time next year.
If/when it does happen, Kensington Palace will only announce a pregnancy with no specific due date and later, the birth itself. The rest of us will have to do the math.
Not only that, did you see its shoes? Totally tacky!
I think the horse was prancing around all twitchy to steal attention from the other horses.
Kidding aside, we did notice the skittish horse if only because those horses are typically so well trained that I would think it would be out of character.
Am I the only one to think Doria’s dress/coat was boring and matronly? We could have found her something fabulous on the CC wedding thread. Wonder what she wore to the evening event?
On one of the wedding recap shows I saw last night, it was mentioned that the horses (they called them the grays) pulling the carriage were chosen because they are more used to crowd noise. Apparently they actually fit some of the horses in the parade with special ear plugs.
As for the future… there is a rumor that Harry and Meghan will take over Princess Diana’s apartment at Kensington.
I bet that will be the case as soon as wee ones arrive.
I don’t think Kate’s dress was that close to white. Looking at some photos, and it is much more of a pale yellow/rich cream color. The one I 'm looking at is her next to Charlotte, who is truly in white, and the difference is marked.
I’ve said it before, but I liked Doria’s Coat/dress set.
That said, I wonder what she wore to the evening affair.
Kate’s dress and coat were reported as ‘lemon.’
I wonder if photos from the evening party will come out at some point?
I did read that Doria’s evening dress was also a Stella McCartney creation.
I would love to see the fashions for the evening reception. I saw just 2 or 3 where they took selfies. They were fabulous fun dresses.
I did not like Oprah’s dress, did not flatter her at all. Did not like the giant necklace thing Serena Williams wore with her pastel dress.
Loved the detail of Cressida Jones dress, maybe from an African designer. I think Princess Eugenie looked 60s mod. She and Beatrice definitely toned down their fascinators/hats from Kate’s wedding. They probably read all our comments on CC back then!!
Maybe Doria was going as safe as possible with her dress, I probably would if I was in her shoes. The ensemble was definitely ho hum safe, exactly like Camilla or the Queen. The Queen probably asked her where she got it because she liked it
