I just saw the official photos online! Beautiful!!!
^^^ Gorgeous!
@frazzled1 Yes! Complaints about the woman who is the head of Givenchy are ridiculous. That woman knows what she’s doing. That kind of silk looks like that. It is not ill-fitting or a wrong cut. Perhaps not everyone here is aware?
@frazzled1 I mentioned Doria because a few posts alluded to the fact she could’ve done better. I thought she looked fine.
The photos are beautiful! I agree that it is striking how color-coordinated everyone except Camilla is - even the bouquets are more green than white. Camilla looks great in pink, maybe green doesn’t flatter her?
Does anyone else think it strange that all the women are wearing their enormous hats in the photos?
Normally, yes, but cameras/lighting call for a different approach. I would know because my daughters were dance competitors, and I was repeatedly told to be more conscious of their makeup. At first, I didn’t believe it; it was only later, when I saw competitions under lights (during daylight) that I realized that the commenters were completely correct. It’s important to listen to those with experience in this area and not just blow them off.
Lovely pictures, I’m so happy for Harry. I get a pang for them that Diana is not present at their life events?
“Normally, yes, but cameras/lighting call for a different approach.”
But she was in all different lighting that day - indoors/outdoors. That’s much different than being on a stage.
" It’s important to listen to those with experience in this area and not just blow them off."
She did have experts assisting her.
That’s fine, @doschicos We simply disagree, that’s all.
I wish the couple the best.
I have no doubts that Meghan was capable of affecting the type of look that she wanted for the day. I am also positive that she had access to stylists all day and that any look that she presented was deliberate. My daughter also dances (not competition) and there is a huge difference in stage make-up vs. make-up for other events. Perhaps the major consideration was to look natural for Harry. Stage make-up is not going to look natural close up and in person. Maybe she was trying to avoid a garish/stage look.
Honestly, I think it is fine if you don’t like or agree with her choices, but to doubt that she was unaware of herself throughout the day does her a disservice.
I’ve seen photos of dance competitors makeup (and hair).
I’ll just say that I greatly, greatly, greatly… can’t say that enough… prefer the simple classiness of Megan Markle’s hair and make up to anything I’ve seen of dance competitors.
I was thinking that Meghans hairdresser was in big trouble for not applying enough hair spray. LOL. Perhaps she went for the natural look because she wanted to appear not as an actress but more like the new role she is taking on?
I have read that Meghan’s mother is more of a earthy spirit and probably the outfit was more to her personality. I liked it, but I would not want something flashy or something that called attention to me. I wish Camilla had not worn such a big hat, she just calls attention to herself by the things she wears. However, I don’t think pastel green would have looked good on her.
Kate wore yellow, and it was a dress she had worn before. Those kids were adorable, especially Charlotte. The page boys cracked me up. I love that look with the page boys carrying her train.
I am also glad Fergie was there. Even though she has done so many stupid things. I like her. Funny how Charles has been said to not understand why his brother gives her the time of day. Those who live in glass houses…They should all look at themselves and have a good laugh.
Was Andrew there? I didn’t see him.
^^ Yes. He sat with his daughters not far from the Queen, Prince Charles, etc.
I think she looked classy and timeless, in both dresses. Her hair was, her. I think that those who are criticizing her wouldn’t be happy if she was to polished. I am happy for the couple.
Andrew was sitting next to Catherine in the front row. The pictures they released were beautiful - I especially love the black and white picture that mimics one of their engagement photos. The one with the kids is precious - love the big smiles - especially the one on George since he looked pretty miserable immediately after the service.
^^ Both of those kids are gorgeous, but I think Charlotte is going to upstage her brother in the hamming-it-up department!
What about Edward? Was he there?
I just watched the clip where you can read Harry’s lips as he says “You look amazing. I’m so lucky.” Her smile says it all: she made the right decisions regarding her hair, her makeup, her dress, etc. If you can’t please everyone (and clearly you cannot), you please yourself and the man you love. Kudos to her.
