Probably an urban legend. She’s English, so she should have known the protocol. If Edward had not received an earldom, she would be known as HRH The Princess Edward, not Princess Sophie. c.f. Princess Michael of Kent.

I have to chuckle at the comments that Kate wore what she did because she might not have had a full closet to choose from–this is her third child, and she has a wardrobe worth hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of pounds to draw on, as well as seamstresses and tailors at her beck and call. We’re not talking about a woman who has one good dress and has to worry about fitting into it after getting birth! :))
Someone a few pages back also made a comment about the Queen living on Malta with Philip–my understanding was not that she lived there full-time but that she made a few extended visits. A lot of the discussion about the Queen on Malta tends to be brought up as justification for the rather limited charity work William and Kate have done over the years.
I am beginning to wonder how Meghan will cope with the restrictions and rigidities of royal life. Having had 36 years of freedom, it might become too constraining for her; Kate met William at the age of 19, she had some years to grow into the life, the role and the expectations before they married.
Too late now. It’s a done deal.

I was thinking about her today being an American. I think the first time someone would call me Your Royal Highness, I would want to bust out laughing.
No, the Queen live on Malta for a year or so. There are several documentaries showing them and their friends playing games, Charles and Anne with the other kids.

I’m more worried about the first time Harry says, “Hey, how 'bout we spend a few weeks living in my favorite safari camp in Botswana?” And his bride says, “Ah, I was thinking how nice Rome is this time of year.”
Oh, I don’t know - I don’t think anyone would turn down Botswana once they’d been there! Even my mom, who prefers Hiltons to camping, loves going on safaris. Her 9th or 10th one is coming up in a few weeks.
Well, there’s camping… and there’s safari done in style: with luxury accommodations and gourmet dining. While I have no reason to think Meghan would disdain plain ole camping, somehow I think her and Harry’s jaunts to Botswana will resemble the latter option.
There is camping, and there is royal camping. B-)

South Africans joke that only celebrities and Americans stay at the private game reserves! The exchange rate makes it more affordable if you’re from the US.
There’s an old saying that no matter who you go to bed with on your wedding night, you wake up with someone different. Despite the luxury of royal safari life, I wouldn’t be surprised if the person Harry went to bed with on Saturday night was a lot more enthralled with Botswana than the person he woke up with.
She and Harry have already been to Botswana together. I’m sure she’d love to revisit especially given it sounds like they made lovely memories there. She passed Harry’s “Botswana test” very early in their relationship. 
Some of you have a very jaded view of relationships.

And as exciting as Botswana is (and I would certainly not be shocked if they chose it for their honeymoon) , some travelers also just like to mix things up. They have been to Botswana together and will no doubt go again. Meghan may want something different for her honeymoon. But who knows. We’ll find out soon enough!
