Hah, I had to come back after several weeks and see what mischief was lurking (and drop some greenies). I’ve been getting mine the old fashioned way…and…I like giving. And BTW I’m on record…in many posts…of saying “I agree with Poet.”

Hmmm… contention in the ranks. Is this a Great Test of Green handed down by the gods of CC? Will the young greenie movement manage to pull together or will a schism form between the conflicting groups? It remains to be seen…

I don’t think random mentions of poetgrl will distract any serious threads for long (based on lurking), but might it truly get us shut down?

Im still a newbie and thats my story………………………:D

Last serious post for the night:
Agree, confetti. The random drop-ins can be cleverly funny. And harmless. But in one thread today it seemed like it was starting to go a bit too far and was confusing posters, and seemed at times to allude to moderation, which is never a good thing. So, truly, TRULY with the best of intentions, I shared my opinion, lest our harmless silly greenie fun cease to be harmless. That was my only point.

Carry on…

You mean shopping the seasonal closeouts? ;)

LOL- I edited that, for fear it might be misconstrued!! But theres a thought-- Maybe merging this with the “shopping deal of the day” could generate some great ideas, and wont even require a haiku or limerick :)

Um… you instead meant racks like in that hot new bestseller Fifty Shades of Green? With Anastasia Steele and The Hulk? ;)

Hmm… if that were the meaning, would be elsewhere and not on here bobbing for greenies
(ok everyone get that image outta your head!!) On that note… have a good evening, all.

It was a dark and stormy night on college confidential. I’d been out walking around the threads and hadn’t seen anything suspicious. There were the usual chance me threads filled with naive wannabes, the occaisonal cautious parent shouting out a line about safeties. Someone was parsing college costs and loans, and somebody else was shouting something about

…not wanting to be alone. When all of a sudden what should appear?
But a new shiny greenie and wannabe peers…

And the peers wore the greenies with pride because it took the cooperation of a whole village to attain them. Curious members traveled from faraway threads in search of the promised land of green…

Harvard. Seemed like everywhere I went I kept hearing about this Harvard. Some thought she was dangerous, and some were sure she was overrated. Either way, you couldn’t help wondering what was up with this dame and why all the talk. But, you couldn’t get a straight answer out of

any of the posters. They seemed to be paying attention, but then suddenly would start murmuring about Millie. Every time I brought up Harvard. Millie … Harvard … Millie … Harvard. But always under their breaths, like they were almost ashamed. Why wouldn’t they look me in the eyes? Something was very

Turns out Milli and CiCi were the ones having the lesbian affair. Crittermom’s husband was relieved.

Thank God!!!

jym - I’m glad you noted that things might be tending slightly toward getting out of hand. I hadn’t had time to go look … but seriously, who wants to pi… irritate a bunch of helicopter parents with problems to solve??? Not me!!!

confetti-
That description of a potentially angry mob kinda reminds me of the old Abbott and Costello bit “Niagra Falls? Slowly I turned, Step by step, inch by inch…”

Does anyone understand the reference, or were most of you are too young to remember that? It was recreated by the Three Stooges, and I think Lucille Ball (on I love Lucy) if anyone ws not still in their cribs in diapers when thise was on…

I was not a big Abbott & Costello fan but I do remember the three stooges…and remember it from I love Lucy…and hey well there is always NICK at night reruns! :)
BTW did I mention Im the newbie here??? Im innocent I tell you! LOL! how long can I say that? AT least until I am an official member like Confetti right?

My relatives were all obsessed with “Slowly I turn.” I too remember the Three Stooges version, present tense. Trigger phrase was “Niagara Falls”- License to go insane. “Every time I hear the name of that city, it tears me apart.”

Oh we all did “Slowly I turn” - I don’t ever remember seeing it on TV though!
