wow..has CC become the new facebook?

Ok, got my reps in. From these threads: 89wahoo, crittermom, the great jym, niceday, poetgrl and neuroticparent. Is it too late to get in on the mixed names? I earned this one fair and square: conmom.

Harvard was Millie’s ivy beard, while she and CiCi cavorted around the pond at Smith. Harvard’s friends, Yale and P’ton, suspected something was not right with their relationship, and muttered about SLACkers a lot. Still, with females, you could never be sure. It wasn’t like football, with winners and dogs

I’m already dying to hear what comes next Sop14, can you serialize this story or is this a Bulwer-Lytton kind of entry ( “It was a dark and stormy night…”)?

Bulwer-Lytton is a contest for the best worst first sentence in a novel. My favorite is the first contest winner from 1982:

“The camel died quite suddenly on the second day, and Selena fretted sulkily and, buffing her already impeccable nails – not for the first time since the journey began –pondered snidely if this would dissolve into a vignette of minor inconveniences like all the other holidays spent with Basil.”

Any of you creative types want to take a stab at a CC themed entry?

“Lorenipsum stared reflectively at his Apple Thuderbolt 38” monitor pushing ‘refresh’ every third minute waiting for the next heart stopping post from poetgrl, eager to agree with her as quickly as possible whatever she posted, for he knew even before reading it, that he would…"

I agree with Yalemom15. ;)

Crittermom, did you get a rep from me recently? I keep trying to click on your scale and get the “pass the love” message – but I don’t have you in my recent record. I probably missed writing it down, an unforgivable one-time faux pas. :(

I agree with LoremIpsum!

LoremIpsum: I think I saw your rep come up yesterday in the am…You are forgiven. I apparently am cut off on spreading the love for the morning…I think I was able to rep you yesterday???

Yes, you did. I try to return recent reps first, for those not my restricted last-20 list, and try to prioritize those still seeking the 2000-point “reputation beyond repute” status.

I’m also getting backlogged on my regular rotation, but the Lords of CC refuse to give me more than 10 a day to catch up. :(

Those Lords…they sure know how to strut their power! Well I am just liking hat I have brilliant future!!! How do you display quotes?

You type [ quote]How do you display quotes?[ /quote]

Just remove the spaces between “[” and “quote]” and “/quote]” and it will show up properly:

They are lords? All this time, I’ve just been worried about CC police.

Ok tried it had to remove it…still confused…oh well

Type "

[quote]
" before the beginning of the quote and the same after it, but add the slash mark to close the quote.

To start quote add: [quote]
To end add: [/quote]
Remove the asterisks shown above

If you insert spaces or place the slash mark in the wrong place, you won’t get the right results.

I’m afraid that managing all this greenie activity is just too complicated for me. So I’m seeking an intern. Advanced limerick, haiku and spreadsheet skills imperative. No pay, but benefits include unlimited “chancing” and the opportunity to become a glorious beacon of light.

crittermom-
here’s the link to all the vbcode options (quote, bold, italic, etc) [College Confidential - BB Code List](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/misc.php?do=bbcode)

oh neuroticparent,
A glorious beacon of light is so yesterday…

You’re right. Maybe I should include “a name known to all” as a signing bonus.

Im afraid with the demanding cost of college I need a paying job!

I did it…thanks :D

That’s a nice list, but I still don’t know how to get hearts on my Mac – is it just a Unicode ID call? Test:


And where is the list of smiley faces?
