OK, I’ll try to share greenies, but don’t really understand this at all.

I’m tired. The worm landed at airport near g/f’s house. I am feeling so bad for the kids trying to get home, and the Chicago airports closed, and college dorms closed. I can remember 3 times at least when I was scrambling to find alternative flights or ways for the worm to get to destinations. People in NJ suggested the worm take train to Newark to find a flight to NC, the to SF. Other time, staying in Philly airport and train to new haven. Another time, frantic call, can I look up alternate flights from Seattle. This forum has proven to be so wonderful, when people supply info on local, conditions and suggestions for alternate routes and hotels. Now we are giving greenies, a silly game, but we are a truly supportive group. I so hope everyone gets their kids to their destinations without too much delay.

HImom–just silliness really. People who have been on CC longer and have more posts and have the most green squares can give the most points every time they leave positive feedback. We have made it our goal to get as many to the top of the hill (11 green squares) just because!
It’s been great fun to meet CCers that we may not have known before. Not original intention of the reputation but we are all rebels! ;)

OK–yes, I really feel for folks being stranded at airports due to weather. It’s especially scary for young ones who don’t fly alone often but ESPECIALLY scary for medically fragile people. That’s why I always handcarry my medications and other essentials. Was only stranded as a student one night and was lucky enough to latch onto some experienced travelers who helped turn it into a fun adventure rather than a lonely and possibly scary one.

HImom, I just ‘loved’ your post.

Thank you niceday! Will visit you in the morning when I reload! ;)

Wow, I guess we got lucky. I picked my son up from Midway at mid-day with no problem at all. His last final is actually tomorrow, but it’s virtual and he was able to select his own time window – he gets the essay questions via email and has to send in his responses 3 hours later. Interesting system!

The original plan was for him to take the final and then fly home, but the Thursday flights were cheaper and he reasoned that he could use his transit time to prepare. So he arrived safely and is now focused on his studies again.

So glad your son is safely home LI. My heart goes out to families trying to navigate multiple avenues to get their kids home safely for the break.

Yes, my hugs to all mothers and fathers having to be in the control tower and navigate their kids home for break. In all this weather.

I have given out all of my green for the day.

If I missed you, or you would like to be included in tommorrows rampant greening, please let me know.

Hoping too all are safe and sound…

My kiddo is going to be late coming home. She won’t be home tonight as planned because of the Chicago weather, but she’ll be here on Sun. Bad timing of a final this morning. Otherwise she would have been out of there yesterday. Oh well, she’ll be here soon! Will be missing one kiddo who is in a far away land, and it seemed a little extravagant to fly her home for Christmas. Sigh . . . Thanks for the greenies, all! And I’ve done my best to distribute what I can as well!

How does one go about getting “greenies”? I would not mind disowning the status of “MITobsession is on a distinguished road” ;)

I just gave you some, MIT.

For Christmas, I wish for some greeny luvin to push me over a 1000. :)

I will get you both tomorrow night. Anyone in a minterwonderland deserves A LOT of green. :D

I just gave both of you some

I can add to you guys tomorrow, but I just ran our for the night. Sorry!

Well here we all are and the world is still turning :)

Tried to give out greenies but the grinch still stops me – I guess my 24 hours is not up yet! Will try again later today!

Unicam, now you have 3 boxes! :)

Hmmm, still in waiting mode. Must be the apocalypse…
