wow waitlisted

ok so i just got waitlisted to northeastern. this was supposed to be my safety school.
sat is 2010 or 1330/1600
gpa: 3.28uw and 3.74 w
good essay
good ec’s

***?

is it just me or is this a tiny bit weird? like i thought i was guna get in i know my gpa kinda sucks but i didn’t think northeastern was THAT competitive.

I got waitlisted too. First deferred, now waitlisted. I wish they could just make a damn decision on me instead of just throwing me around like this. It’s really frustrating.

GPA: 3.0/3.2 (this is why)
SAT: 1990/1330
ACT: 31
Great essay, very relevant EC’s to my major

I’m frustrated and upset.

I got waitlisted too.
1300/1600 SAT
29 ACT
3.3 GPA

What is going here? This was one of my SAFTIES!

ok yay i’m glad more people are in the same boat as me. it’s okay guys. whatever we will find bettter schools! haha

Sometimes you get waitlisted because it is obvious you are applying as a safety.

1300/1600 SAT and 3.3GPA isnt exactly the stats to have if you consider Northeastern a safety.

can I ask did you all hear back via snail mail, email or checking application status online? I haven’t heard back yet

you will receive an email saying your admission decision is available, then you head over to the application status website to view the decision

check your email and they send u a link to check it online!

btw i just realized only 7% were accepted. 2800/36000. makes sense why we were all waitlisted.

seven percent? that sounds kind of ridiculous, ivy league schools are 8 or 9% at the lowest…
thank you nek37 and please1…ive checked my email like hourly everyday cause im on break…but still nothing

waitlisted as well 3.3 (88/100) 1430/1600 2050/2400

please1, regarding acceptance rates. Schools admit a much higher number of students than they have spots for in the freshman class because not everyone accepted will attend. I think NEU’s acceptance rate last year was around 38%. That probably will go down slightly this year since apps were up

oh yea your right i forgot about that. so its probably like 25 percent or so

A 1300 on the 1600 scale?

me? 1330/1600 yea

They obviously put a lot of emphasis on GPA. I got in EA w/ a 1210/1600, 1860/2400 SAT, but my GPA was ~3.98 UW.

same situation
extremely surprised i was waitlisted…
gpa- 3.7
rank-15%
hardest courses, ap calc, ap physics, ap history, ap bio
28 ACT
really good extra currics, great comm service and recs, and essay

and i know people from my school that got in with MUCH lower stats
i think the fact that i applied premed may have affected my chances
check to see what school you applied to
honestly, don’t worry, if it was a safety, you shouldn’t be too bothered
just wait a few weeks till you hear the good news

I feel your pain guys…
3.5 gpa uw
Mostly hardest classes; AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Stat, AP Psych
34 ACT

Waitlisted!

WOW!!! This just shows how random admissions can be.

Accepted
3.5 UW GPA
1280/1600 SAT
awesome recs, ECs

yea like thewho123 has good stats, but my sat’s are better but his gpa is better although not by much. but other people with better stats got wailisted. yea this sucks but watever.
