I read the Daily Northwestern a lot (what can I say? I love Northwestern!), and I’d love to write for it if I go next year. However, I was wondering how hard it is to get to write for it as a freshman and as someone who isn’t majoring in journalism. Does that even happen?

Yes, my son wrote for the Daily his freshmen year, and he is not a journalism major. The Daily “recruited” people over the summer via the Facebook page for admitted students – there was a short application. Some positions are paid, though my son’s wasn’t. The Daily also had a booth at the activities fair at Wildcat Days.
