ahhhh yes. We watched the whole Ivy Dreams vid in health class back in 10th grade lol. I didn’t appreciate it as much back then.

I feel bad for the kids whose parents were like vultures. I’ve always had to push myself to do well. My parents are there to back me up, but I don’t do well because they force me to.

But I’m glad two of those people got into Yale and Dartmouth. I watched all of that last night.

^Mhm, the parents fit the asian stereotype so well. It’d be tough to be one of those kids in the vid. I cannot pity the boy, though, he didn’t even know he needed subject tests for Columbia!

^
I kind of laughed. Why was he applying to Columbia with a 1400/2400 SAT, anyway?

I personally find the Asian stereotype very annoying. I wish people would remember it’s just that- a stereotype!

On a nicer note- I want to see that video!

I’m sorry if my words were blunt, I wasn’t trying to offend anyone. I just found it funny that the producers of an “Ivy Dreams” video intentionally picked 4 asian applicants with very strict parents.

Don’t worry about it. No offense taken. Potential future Yalies after all. :)

Reposting this question because I need an answer D:

On the application website, it says that updates should be faxed. I didn’t know this and I already emailed a letter to apply.questions@yale.edu - would it be a bad idea to fax the letter as well? Just in case the letter gets buried at the very bottom of their email when they return from Thanksgiving on Monday?

It couldn’t hurt, fgsfds.

Wait, so what do we do if we need to let them know something else?

Not a traitor, man! Just a realist. I haven’t visited Yale (or many other schools) yet, and I probably won’t get to unless I get admitted and go to Bulldog Days, so it wouldn’t be smart for me to accept the offer without visiting it or other places. But I know there are certain schools that I definitely won’t turn down Yale for, so I won’t apply to them if I get in early.

If I received Best Speaker at a recent Model UN conference, is that an update worth faxing to Yale? I applied early but have yet to get an interview. I’m not sure if this recognition would do me any favors.

Thoughts?

The TV documentary was broadcast on “AZN Television” ([AZN Television - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](AZN Television - Wikipedia)) and both the director and writer are Chinese - so I’m not quite sure how you would find it ‘funny’. I personally found it fitting.

You can read an interview with Joy Huang, the writer, here: [MOSAEC Television - Ivy Dreams (Joy Huang)](http://www.mosaec.com/mosaec/television/tv_ivydreamsinterview.htm)

I miss AZN Television. I was addicted to that channel. I never got around to watching the Ivy Dreams show though.

I think I’m going to pass on watching the singing bulldog ahead of time. Too much of a spoiler, and not seeing it with my decision would make deferral/rejection that much more painful.

Wow, smart decision. Too late for me though… I’ve already watched it three times. I couldn’t resist ):

I’m gonna pass too. Though watching it after getting rejected is just being sadistic. So it’s probably better to watch it now. :)

I felt the same way too. I watched it this afternoon after seeing it on this thread and was planning on skipping it all along, but it surprised me and I accidentally watched it
It will still make me very happy if I end up seeing it. Just imagining seeing it is kinda a tease now though. :P

Ugh, kaira07 you make me want to watch it real bad beforehand now. Just to have the opportunity to see what it looks like…

The way I see it, If I see blue I’ll know it’s good news. If not, I won’t have to wait those extra few seconds reading about the rejection/deferral. It’s all about trying to cut down the wait 'til decisions!

^^Haha sorry Madshock.
Let’s not see it at all, unless it’s on December 15th. (Or maybe April 1st, though that would be a lot worse.
)
