Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

Heheh it’s all good, but I think I will end up watching it before the 15th…
We must stay strong!! If I get deferred I think I could still watch it afterwards, but being rejected would make it awful.

I totally agree. I’m submitting my Harvard app tomorrow and Princeton a few days later, so they’ve kept me pretty busy. (And thank goodness.)

I’ve been attacking my Rice app myself, so I know what you mean. I’m probably just transferring my Yale supplement essay into the Harvard one, so Harvard will be sent soon also :)

I’ve got another teacher letter (which I think will be quite good) and a sports captainship that happened after the submission deadline. I also have the potential for a big state/national thing to come up, but the earliest it could be seen by a Yale admissions officer would be the 10th. Would it be best to send them an update now, or to wait until next week?

Huh that’s a predicament…for SCEA I would personally send something now and then again for the 10th, because most apps will be finalized by then…

How do you know apps will be finalized by the 10th?

I just finished the Ivy Dreams video…and feel slightly nauseous. :-/

we’re all in this together

We are. And then, some of us will get in and some of us won’t. :-/

For some reason, I feel like we’re in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. Anyone else feel like that?

I haven’t seen the movie.

I’m getting my decision early morning of December 16th because of the time difference. Which means I have an extra 12 hours wait. Ugh.

Where are you from?

In the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, there a bunch of soldiers in boats, getting prepared to launch the invasion. Some of them get gunned down. Others don’t. A rather macabre comparison. Sigh, :-/.

Asia.

Haha I see why you feel that way. I can imagine it. All of us in blue Yale sweatshirts with hopeful looks on our faces. Only there are giant bulldogs doing the shooting.

Many of the soldiers got sick as their boats approached the beach.

I too will probably get sick/nauseous/throw up/go into cardiac arrest moments before the decision.

It would be cool is a lot of us got in and then met each other on Bulldog Days. Lol. It’d probably be awkward and we’d most likely not even realize who’s who, but still. A funny thought. That makes me even more anxious. About getting decisions. From Yale. In less than three weeks.

^Well since this forum has over 1% of the applicant pool, and probably will have an above-average acceptance rate, there’s a good chance accepted students run into each other eventually!

EDIT: forgot that this is only the pool for SCEA lol, there are so many more hearts waiting to be crushed in April.

Lol, true. And many of those hearts will be SCEAers… who get deferred… and then rejected…

Okay we need to stop being so pessimistic.

Hmm, we should invent a secret handshake, or a wave, or item of clothing that will distinguish us from the rest should we get accepted.

The Stanford REA thread is literally 4 or 5 times as active as this. They all know each other.

Agreed! Let’s get positive.
I say if we get accepted, we should all wear something most people wouldn’t… lol. I just don’t know what.

guys we’re all doomed, no ones making it ok just forget it man FORGET IT ITS ALL OVER

Harvard shirts? Just kidding
I think this is a great idea though!

The saddest part of that scene in Saving Private Ryan was a guy who was praying on his rosary. And then, his friend got killed, I think.

GUYS…I want to make it out alive!!!
