Deadlines are quite a blessing. I felt the same way as you ninja, but with forcing myself to apply to a few due December 1st, I’ve gotten back into the rhythm…although I have a wee ways to go to finish them still :)

How confident do you guys all feel? I’m extremely nervous and praying. What’s everyone’s stats?

In central time, when do admissions decisions come out on Dec 15th?

^ 4pm I believe

@Madshock: yeah, I think getting back into it would help me, too. I did quite a bit of most of the supplements while I was working on the Yale one because I was so on top of everything, so it shouldn’t be too much. The stanford supplement is the main one I have left. All the others I should be able to do without much effort. I feel like I should do these before Dec. 15th though so I don’t have to worry about how I will be effected by my decision (regardless of what it is.)

I just found out I have an AP Euro test first period December 16th. It’s not an exam though, fortunately. Who else has big tests the 16th? Why don’t teachers understand??? :)

I have an IB Math HL midterm on the 16th. =(

You are taking Euro as a senior? I took it as a sophomore. btw I love being from NY. A lot of the people are talking about finals/midterms during that week, but those aren’t until late January for me =)

The best part about it is by the time I have to study for midterms in late January, I won’t have to worry about doing any more applications (or maybe we’ll just be in at Yale…)

Yes, I am. At my school almost all kids in the AP program take AP World in 10th and our guidance counselors are very unimaginative and don’t adjust to new ideas much, so they very much discourage and almost look at you funny if you ask to take more than that as a sophomore. There was one boy who took AP Enviro and AP Psych sophomore year in addition to world, but he literally had to bring his mother in and have her yell at the guidance counselor to let him sign up for them. (I actually got to witness this :P) So yeah, then junior year almost everyone takes APUSH, and the US and Euro tests are the same day, so no one really jumps for it then either. My entire class is seniors and it’s small so it’s fun. Oh! and I also have finals mid-January!!! I haven’t had them before break since middle school! Very glad about that this year, too :)

@ccuser: agreed. that would be/will be (?!) amazing.

i’m losing my mind over this, i know i shouldn’t get my hopes up but i can’t help it…anyone in my situation?

haha yeah, it will be great to be done with all college stuff by then! At my school, we take Euro sophomore year, APUSH junior year, and macro and comparative government senior year. We don’t offer world, but I took APUSH and macro junior year.

Cool, yeah, it’s weird to think of how different schools do their schedules sometimes. US Gov and macro are senior classes for us, but there is only one macro class so it doesn’t fit in many people’s schedules (including mine, i’m stuck in honors and it’s ridiculously easy, but a good morning class. :)) Copo is a new class for this year. the same guy who took environmental and psych sophomore year had to get a petition for it to be started. Oh, and after he did that and got the signatures, he went to sign up for it and it didn’t fit in his schedule. xD Another example of our splendid guidance department. gotta love these large florida public schools. lol.

In good ol’ Arkansas, it’s APUSH 10th, World 11th, and Euro 12th. Basically, my writing this means I don’t think you’re weird ninja.

haha thats funny, we actually call it GOPO. How many periods in a day do you have at your school? We have 4 periods and lunch

At my school, its world history honors freshman year, APUSH sophomore or junior, Euro Junior or Senior and History Electives in between. Or you can take pysch as a history. Or not take euro or apush and still be in honors. And micro/macro is in the business dept.

Gotcha all beat on weirdness, no?

but really, we have the coolest history dept ever. My favorite class? History of the Modern Middle East. Awesome.

I’m taking Euro as a senior as well, it’s so funny how each school does it so differently! I have my Euro midterm on the 16th, and my semester paper due for English that day. I think Calc BC will be my hardest exam and I have it on Wednesday afternoon, so hopefully that will distract me from my Yale nerves.

lucyloves
Thats a really awesome class! Where do you go?
^^It is really interesting how each school does stuff. Yeah, Calc BC is probably my hardest class right now. What topic are you guys on?

@ny4chelsea: we have 7 periods each day, not counting lunch. we have all classes every day. Last year we had 8. Our schedule has changed each year, but they seem to be getting more organized now, haha. My freshman year was crazy. We really don’t know what they’re thinking sometimes. Do you have block scheduling?

But BC Calc will probably be my hardest too. Our homework tonight was on… derivatives and integrals of logs and inverse trig derivatives? I think. we seem to be going in a weird order though.

@always hungry: that sounds like a painful week. at least you probably won’t have much work or worries over break for classes right? or will you have assignments anyway? that’s the one downfall of exams after break IMO.

@lucyloves: i’m jealous of your history dept. I’d love to take a class like that. we just have the typical classes with good but occasionally terrible teachers.

:)

We have block scheduling and I love it. Thats really weird for Calc. We did those derivatives last year, but have yet to integrate them. We just finished parametric and polar equations. btw how many total APs will you have taken by the time you graduate?
